I wanted Flores over Vrabel but would have taken either. Jets must move on Flores. Flores turned Miami from losers to winners. Just didn't have enough time to get them to the playoffs. I think he's perfect to turn this team around.
Why? They felt he was a shitty head coach and probably a mistake to promote him. They should hang on to him for what reason?
They should have backed the biggest Brinks truck they could find up to his front yard and had another one on standby if necessary. And, barring that, there were better backup options last year than most of the top options this year. They could have had Vrabel last year or they could have made a run at Dan Quinn, who has done an outstanding job in Washington this year. Well, at least we know to brace ourselves for Rex or Aaron Glenn now. Another pathetic season incoming for next year. And the year after... and so on.
That's the sad part. Harbaugh, Vrabel, Pete Carrol all were sitting there. Even Tomlin was rumored to be available for trade. Jets should have fired Saleh last off-season. Its insane they gave him another chance.
Brian Flores is clearly the guy in my opinion. Jets need a no-nonsense guy and Flores fits the bill. Flores knows the New York media market well. He was born and raised in Brooklyn. Flores knows AFC east football very well. Was in the Patriots staff years and was screwed by the Dolphins. You know he wants to kick the shit out of the dolphins every game he plays them. Let him bring Josh McCown with him as OC. McCown can handle this media market, after all he was a QB here. With that being said let the Jets swing a trade for McCarthy. Keep the offensive system the same as they knew in Minnesota. This all sounds logical but I am sure the Jets will hire some first time mess and our misery will continue in 2025.
Second opportunity coaches are getting a lot more selective. Harbaugh was lobbied to come back to the NFL since he was hired at Michigan. He had his pick of any opening since he left the big leagues. He was never coming to a dog shit situation like this. Kliff Kingsbury put into the media that he’s going to be selective as well. He’s still getting paid his head coaching salary by the Cardinals. He’s not going without. Shitty franchises like us are going to have to continue taking cracks at first time coordinators or crappy retreads. Cream of the crop candidates are going to be picky.
He wasn’t a shitty head coach. That team is devoid of talent. They groomed him to take over for Belichick who won the same amount of games with that roster they didn’t even wait a day very unprofessional
I didn’t say he is or isn’t I said they felt he was. Why would they hold on to him? Continuity is useless in the NFL if it doesn’t seem like it’s going to breed success.
Flores the better option for this team. Flores turned Dolphins from losers to winners. Vrabel turned the Titans from winners to losers.
I said the same thing but I guess he has had some real mis-steps with the media. Add that to some very questionable in-game decisions. Still, this is not something you'd expect given that he's a first year HC with a very young team with not many pieces. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm up for Flores pending more info on the terrible relationship he had with Tua. Would love some good reporting on the story with that. Still like Aaron Glenn too
