He was wide open all day long. Rodgers wasn’t reading the defense, he was just trying to figure out where to put Adams and what route to tell him to run to get him the ball. I was floating the idea of being OK with him being back as a stopgap but that was disgraceful yesterday.
What's becoming clearer with each game is that Rodgers wants to win, but only on his own terms. There's nothing the CS can do about it. Rodgers will either change the play or throw it to one of his buddies anyway.
Is Garret Wilson whingeing like a whipped bitch? 4th most targets NFL wide. Starting to sour on this kid
Yes, he whining, but with Davante here, his targets have gone down, that is also true. He is a #1 guy and should be treated as such. Especially since he is open a lot. I do want to see Rodgers rectify that on Sunday. Still not sure if I want Rodgers back and want to see the whole season play out, but certainly not at the expense of alienating GW. You underestimate the incompetence of this regime. We've had the appearance of tanking for the most part since game 1.
Next year needs to be a tear it down and rebuild year. If Rodgers comes back for that I'd be surprised. The Jets thinking next season is worth salvaging and trying to stay "all in with golden boy" wouldn't surprise me though, so who knows?
We've been rebuilding for at least 6 years now, enough of that. I want to win, and we have the team to do it. We need a few tweaks here and there and figure out the QB with Rodgers as one option, but also there may be other decent ones, like Fields, Carr, etc... We need to win in 2025, as simple as that. Anything outside of making play-offs next year to me is utter failure.
Tearing down and rebuilding is why we have so many threads about home grown talent doing well with other teams. Those threads suck.
Tearing down and rebuilding is a strategy in the NFL but it’s not what it’s been sold to as Jets fans. It’s a one year project where you eat shit on the cap, have a good draft, hire a good coach and start the upswing. The thought process that it needs to be this half a decade long project is silly.
You gotta do what you gotta do. You cant just wish a team into winning, while cobbling on something that is already broken. You just got to do it right.
On Monday he said he hopes he doesn’t “get released by a teenager”, an obvious shot at Brick Johnson Tuesday he called out Johnson directly by name, when asked if he was going to return he said “you should ask Woody” — Now woody Johnson is a shitbag but any player talking like that should be shown the door imo
It's not what you gotta do, it's what Woody does to justify losing for the first 2 years of every regime. It's not necessary.
I don't think it's fair at all to say that Rodgers has "called out the owner" with his press conference today. He gave a rather long-winded, yet politically correct answer to whether or not he was expecting the Jets to have a conversation with him about his future, which he said he didn't expect until a new GM and Head Coach were hired. He was then asked the follow up, point blank (by Cimini, it sounded like, but could be wrong on that) "Do you think Woody wants you back?" to which he responds "You should ask Woody." Given that any other answer would be Rodgers putting words in the mouth of the owner, I don't really see "You should ask Woody" as a problematic response or him taking a shot at Woody, at least in that instance. The stuff about Brick Johnson is just him taking a shot at the ridiculousness of the media reports. These reports, given the source they come from, are obviously nonsense, and Rodgers is playing into that.
