Even when I know it would be beneficial to lose, I just can't bring myself to root against the Jets. Also, it makes it easier not to root against them when I know they'll just screw up whatever draft pick they have anyway.
My point exactly. I am a realist and understand that picking second instead of first matters if there is a generational talent in the draft, but as the years go by I mostly see over hyped players who are mostly a roll of the dice. Especially skill position players. I'm almost at the point where I don't want to draft any QB in round one. I'd rather pick a sure thing offensive lineman later on. Fashanu looks like he'll be gold for us. Did anyone notice how much better Aaron Rodgers looked Sunday now that Fashanu is giving him an extra second on passing downs?
Of course you never know who is going to be great (Brady in the 6th round etc) I am just saying as a draft fan there is no superstar prospect this year that everyone is getting excited about and so I am less fussed this year about where we pick than I was when we were in the running for Lawrence (even though that doesn't seem to have panned out that well)
Was there with my kids and my 1 and 3 year old grand daughters so was happy for a win. Always want a win but at this point in a season I don't let it bother me too much if they lose and help draft position.
