Hahahahahahaha!! Isn’t this why Rodgers came here? We have some young talent, mostly way overrated by our own fanbase, and a whole lot of cap issues coming our way. We have what looks to be a good LT, a decent WR in Wilson, an avg CB in Sauce, an overrated RB in Breece Hall, a heavily overpaid financial burden at DT, and two potentially promising DE’s, one of whom had a season ending jnjury. Outside of that we have absolutely nothing.

The talent is decent, but not great. With good GM And HC, the talent level can rise to great and the results can be great within one season. The Jets have lost 7 games by 6 or fewer points this season. Imagine what good coaching could have done. They are not far away from being a solid contender.

First off, sorry for the hahahaha, I didn’t mean to come off as condescending. How do you propose to deal with the dead cap money from Rodgers, Adams, Reddick, Lazard (possibly, we may have to keep him), Mosley, and more on top of ridiculously overinflated contracts like Quinnen and AVT? Next season we could potentially be looking at a need for 2 new OG’s, a RT, a serious need to upgrade at C, a WR1, QB, MLB, DT, and S. I think this upcoming season is going to be a massive purge, and we’ll need a HC willing to weather that purge in a league where you only have 3 years to prove yourself. My personal opinion is we’re going to hire a stopgap type of coach like Ron Rivera or someone like that, or a completely unproven 2nd tier of Coordinator candidates brlow the likes of Ben Johnson.

Well, I don't know how much dead cap money we are talking about. I know that it's huge for Aaron Rodgers. Beyond that, I have no idea.

The big question is whether we swallow the damage of Rodgers contract in one year or spread it to 2 years. It’s a 49m dead money hit to cut him pre June 1st. We can spread it to 2 years and cut him post June 1, but I think it goes to 14m next tear abd something like 35m the following. Davante saves something like 29m if we cut him with 8m of dead money. Mosley we’re likely stuck with for one more year at 12m, Reddick is over 4m dead money, Lazard saves us 6m but will be 6m more f dead money as well. Quinnen counts for over 20m, and AVT unavoidably counts for over 15m so both are definitely here next year. It’s not pretty however you slice it. Whoever comes here is coming with the understanding that next year is going to be a major transitional year.

Ok, so 2 years to turn it around. That's still pretty quick. Maybe trade one or two top players for draft capital and get more quality rookies. That will save some money.

In this market, we need a successful retread simply from the credibility aspect of it. Another newbie HC won't be successful as the fanbase and/or the Media will never accept it. Too many newbies failed here for them to go that route again. If Woody wants to gamble on losing what's left of the fanbase because he keeps making the same mistakes over and over? Let him hire another newbie that has to learn on the job. The patience simply is not there anymore for it. Experience over luck. If you're a jet operative or fan, you have to choose experience.

Someone might need to explain to our ownership what these mysterious "wins" are before they set out to higher the people who will be responsible for getting them.

It seems like you’re assuming that a first time head coach would need time to develop and be bad at first. All of the guys I quoted before did not have that problem. It’s not a given if you hire the right guy.

You have to hire the right guy who hires the right coordinators who all report to the right GM who drafted the right QB. Period.

All true, and it’s more likely than not that the right guy will be a new coach than past failure.

What are the odds that after Parcells, they finally find and hire the right guy? Odds are against it.

No retreads! Let’s move forward. A landline was useful but we have a chance to get the latest technology. We have an opportunity to finally do that and surround him with the personnel he wants. Get him! Ben!!

Is there such a thing as the odds coming in at less than zero?

No they are not. Where in the hell did you get THAT perception? I can list out the last 3 runs at GM's/HC's and NO ONE of substance came to this crap hole organization. This team lacks talent in the ONLY spot that matters and that is QB. They haven't been able to draft that talent and, in recent decades, haven't been able to "Free Agent" one either. So, your "desirable" barometer is severely lacking.
