EVEN THO i BECAME A bAMA FAN AS AS SOON AS I READ jOE wILLY WENT THERE ( 1975?) im sick of them alwas7 being at the top too
So Lincoln Riley is the most overrated coach of our lifetime right? Coached against a very weak defensive Big 12 conference during the Baker/Kyler Heisman runs, never gets Oklahoma to the playoff, self destructs there and goes to USC where they’ve massively disappointed. Brian Kelley is another huge disappointment at LSU. Tons of athletes and NFL players passing through. Has a Heisman winner and still can’t beat a big time SEC team.
This QB for Vanderbilt is a total clown. Suing the NCAA cause they count junior college seasons against college eligibility. Last time I looked junior colleges seasons are....checks notes... college seasons Show some respect hes getting a free education and now a free graduate degree from Vanderbilt (if graduates anyway). Time to grow up young-ish man, you can't stay in college forever. totally takes the shine off a rebirth of that program too, what a shame
https://x.com/CFBHeather/status/1865486581554913622 It looks like they forgot that they had to watch the games and grabbed whatever TVs they could find.
SEC championship used to be so cool. The cream of the crop. So much at stake Now it’s like who cares, both teams are in the playoffs next week along with 2 maybe 3 other teams in the conference
It’s like Clemson is in now? With bye???? They haven’t played good in months, beat an extremely overrated SMU team though and now they get a bye in the playoff. The whole thing is a joke
they kept undefeated Florida State out last year because their QB was hurt. Georgia has 2 losses and a hurt QB but they are the no 2 overall seed and i'm sorry but Arizona State, Clemson, Boise, and SMU in the playoff? I can name multiple teams better than them. they have destroyed CFB -- I didn't love the 4 team playoff either a final 4 like this is much better: 1 Oregon v. 4 Texas, 2. Notre Dame v. 3. Georgia Rose Bowl - Arizona State v. Ohio State Cotton Bowl - Alabama vs. Penn State Fiesta Bowl - Tennessee vs. Indiana
Eh Boise State barely lost to #1 Oregon on a field goal with time expiring. They deserve to be in. I’m ok with conference champs ASU and Clemson being in. I don’t get why Indiana and SMU are in though. Nice story with Indiana but they played one ranked team and didn’t beat any. SMU technically beat Louisville and Pitt when they were ranked but they both finished the year unranked and 8-4/7-5. SMU didn’t play Clemson, Syracuse or Miami in the regular season (2, 3, 4 in the conference).
Boise deserves to be in you are right but not with a bye... SMU and Clemson both suck. You make a good point about Indiana
The only way it gets fixed is if they balance the conferences again. With 15-17 team conferences, teams are going to be able to avoid playing the a couple of the better teams in their conference every year. It was sorta like that in the Big Ten before re-alignment but I’d say the Iowa’s, Minnesota’s, Illinois’s, etc. were always better than the bottom of the ACC or Big 12. I know Michigan and Ohio State would miss Penn State here and there but they at least mostly all played each other.
the conferences are a mess and not sustainable. Oregon going all the way to Bloomington, Indiana for women's water polo or some shit. (bloomington is not easy to get to). Cal-Berkeley traveling to Clemson, SC, virtual opposites in every way, just so they can get a piece of the football TV money. It's terrible. It is just not sustainable going forward. There will be some hard decisions in the coming years with this and NiL considerations. The future is NOT bright for college sports. I believe the non-revenue generating olympic sports will be cut through like butter as schools chase football. Title 9 requires them field equal amounts of mens and womens teams, but it doesn't matter how many. They could cut everything except a couple sports on each side to keep the football money rolling in. And who's to say title 9 won't be reversed anyway? these are the types of things that our politicians focus on unfortunately... what will be the result of these cuts? thousands less scholarship athletes.
