This fan base ran off Chad Pennington, Brett Favre, Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, Sam Darnold, Zach Wilson and soon to be Aaron Rodgers. Two hall of famers, one with the one of the best completion percentage of all time, one that got us to two AFC championship games and two that are current starters for playoff teams. Why can't we find a QB?
Let's get started on coaches. Where should I start Belicheck- quit on a Napkin (8 Superbowls?) Groh- one season then wanted no part Herm - just not good enough get him out here. Mangini- was a genius for one season then get him out of here. Rex- two of the best seasons ever but not good enough he was Clown. Bowles- Toilet Bowles but he is doing ok in Tampa Gase- this was just a bad hire Saleh- A hot candidate but people calling for his head after one season . We always look at the one team that turned their fortunes around after one season and set that as expectation. The truth is that is rare Between a fan base that goes negative after the first loss and a media that them flames that fire and more importantly an Owner that listens to the fan base and media this franchise is doomed.
1) Released by Tanny, but was damaged goods at that stage 2) LOL.. wut?! Dude "retired" so he could complete his vendetta against GB 3) Maybe I give you this but Despite a brief fun run, wasn't very good 4) Sucked for like 10 years and 4 teams 5) JD mistake... majority of fans wanted to keep him 6) Sorry Zach Wilson sucks 7) To be continued....
The fanbase is the nicest in the league. Compare it to Bills fans who wanted McDermott fired or Steelers fans who wanted Tomlin fired. Also, fixed for you.
The fan base ran them off? Sanchez, Geno, Darnold, and Wilson were all playing at league-worst levels during their Jets tenures. I agree that this organization has problems that run much deeper than the players but this is revisionist history.
Sanchez got us to two AFCC game, Darnold, Smith and Wilson were/are young QB's on bad teams. I think the organization let down each of these QB's with some suspect coaching and bad choices at O-line and bad development. This fan base expects magic and that young QB's should be playing at a probowl level out of the gate no matter how bad the team is. It easy to say playing the worst in the league as Darnold and Smith are now QBing playoff teams it obviously was not a talent issue. Wilson we will see how he does in act 2 but a hall of fame QB with a better o-line and better weapons has not faired much better but yeah Rodgers sucks now I forgot.
Oh we were sposed to start with them and let them lose for 6 years running til we they DEVELOPED? They each have one of the top 5 WRs in the NFL.
That is just how long it took them to get a second chance. Being a good QB depends a lot on your supporting cast and coach, especially a young QB. My point is there is no patience for that here bring in a vet not a rookie.
They both got second chances quite quickly- Sam started immediately w/ Carolina and Geno got signed by the Gnats as a b/u... and both these guys are being Pennington level QBs at their BEST...which is to say decent/middling
Until Woody decides to step away it does not matter. My past positive self would say get the OC from Lions.
btw, UB... when I get into a back n forth... its NEVER about me attacking the poster... just an exchange of POV and ideas...I hope I didn't come off like I was having a go AT YOU. Carlos
