I am thinking about how to play next years Season Jets Tickets I was forced to pay for in November. Following this years debacle I will probably sell the Season at a loss. I don't see them turning it around in one or two years especially if Rogers comes back. My goal is to divest myself from any financial responsibility to the Jets organization as soon as possible, incurring the least amount of loss. My PSL "investment is $8,000.00. My Season Tickets including Parking Pass is $3,754.00. I would appreciate any sound advice in this matter.
For a mostly young and rebuilding team Rodgers is just not a good fit even if he begins to play better and become a better locker room guy. His compensation limits to options a new GM would have in building a team around him now and preparing a successor to take over the QB position in the future. With that said Rodgers finally delivered a 300 yard game and got the ball moving against a mediocre Dolphins team. What are the chances that instead of simply embracing the tank we can use our remaining games to showcase Rodgers so another team might want to take on his salary without us having to pay them?
I would suggest using the Wall Street technique of "Pump and Dump". Set up a few new iDs here and every other Jets forum you can find. Set yourself up as some kind of NFL guru with insider connections in Florham Park and the NFL offices. Maybe start a blog or even do podcasts - challenge Michael Nania to prove he is more astute about all things Jets than you are. Once you and your new crew of "insiders" takes hold start talking about unknown clones of Hall of Famers hiding among the Coastal Carolinas and Houston Cougars that only you and the Jets know about. Talk about stem cells being produced in a lab in Florida with donors from families named Lombardi, Parcells, Shula and Rockne; follow up with Pete Carroll's Fountain of Youth expedition and all the new "vitamins" he is taking. Then you can talk about how Woody Johnson's overwhelming guilt for screwing over Jets fans for decades has him formulating plans to refund a thousand dollars a seat for each year a PSL was held. You even get to set the date for that happening and make sure you sell, sell, sell before then. You'll make all your money back, and then some. Then invest in pro pickleball. Only problem is, as a long term Jets fan (aka sucker) you'll probably get so excited by what you produced FOMO will kick in and you'll buy it all back at the peak of the market.

Nope. I do find it funny though that his description could pertain to the host of the show he was on. I mean, I don't honestly remember a Pat McAfee punt and I'm a football guy.
He is not a below average QB. (Top half in yards, top half in TD and bottom half in INT). I think if we had this production last year, or even the year before, we would have ended the playoff drought. For all of those that want to move on from Rogers, my ask is- who is replacing him? We start all over again with a new Sanchez, Geno, Sam, Zack, and throw him to the fire? Bring in a retread? A-Rod was/is battling some lower body discomfort and this has resulted in less mobility. The inability to extend plays has also limited the explosive plays he's been able to produce over his career. Dude can still sling it though, he has the arm talent Just as all Achilles injuries, the 2nd year is back to normal. For me, I'd like to see him back next year with GW, DA, Breece for one last run. Sounds like he wants to as well.
I think you're right. Rodgers will probably be back next year to finish what he started. That doesn't mean I want it to happen. No good can come out of another year with Rodgers. They haven't played nearly well enough to suggest they can somehow correct everything that went wrong this year. No SB in our future......so why bother going through the motions. I think the only recourse for this team is Square 1. Go back to the draft, get a QB and try again. I realize a lot of our top players will want to leave, but I'm encouraged by seeing some rookie QBs make good around the league. Maybe it can happen here. We won't know unless we try.
Who cares who replaces him - it's rebuilding time. Too bad all the AR experiment accomplished was delaying the rebuild. Number 35 in QB win record. Completion % - #27 Passer Rating - #20 QBR - #25 Sacks taken - #12 Sack yards lost - #6 Yards/pass attempt - #26 4Q Comebacks led - #22 (1) There's plenty of stats to go around that show he is, indeed, a below average quarterback - all verified by the eye test. Thankfully, it doesn't sound at all to me that he wants to come back to the Jets next year. "Don't let the door..."
I don't think he will be. The cap ramifications of him returning are just too staggering for the next regime to even seriously consider it.
But you have to consider that Rodgers is a mega-star in the league. If he wants to play next year, I don't think even a new regime can stop him. He's a money machine no matter how poorly he plays.
If they don't make that change, then they've already doomed themselves to be fired in the next 2-3 years. And if they're not smart enough to realize that, then we're in a situation where Woody failed once again to get this thing anywhere in the vicinity of correct.
