While I agree, they won't return, the restructure just spreads the CAP over multiple years. Davante is getting paid in full this year. Just the CAP hit is spread. And it is called "dead cap" if he is not on the roster. But it doesn't really play any role in whether to retain him or not. In other words, the difference between what you paid him this year and the CAP hit next year will be on our CAP in future year(s) regardless whether he stays or not. That already happened when we lowered his CAP this season to the number that's below what he actually got paid this season. We essentially borrowed from future CAP. It has no bearing on his contract guarantees beyond this year, which is 0.

Now, because JD pushed a lot of CAP down the road to win now (well to lose now), new GM will be in a tougher spot to sign expensive players in general.

Well I guess this means the Steelers will win this year's Super Bowl.

Same. I'd take Michael Carter II and DJ Reed over him as well. Hell, Echols makes more plays than Sauce does.

Bet he feels like a real moron forcing his way to the Jets instead of the Steelers or a real franchise.

I thought the same at first but on replay, I think that ball was hit by the DB and Adams reached out trying to grab it…may not have been a drop would have to rewatch it

All he had to do today at the end of regulation was make the catch and stay inbounds.

Cost the Jets a hard fought win instead led to another kick to the balls loss.

Veteran player too making a rookie mistake.

And did he really miss a play after the collision with Wilson because of a possible bloody lip?

    I'm upset about the loss.

100% correct. Every week it’s a different player or two making a play to turn a win into a loss.
We’ve lost at least 5 games strictly on IDIOCY. This team is way too talented to be 3-10 …. But it’s VERY good at giving games away.

BTW … I’m not sure that his forward progress wasn’t stopped in bounds … but that’s not how they called it.

I find it a one sided argument beating the drum on the offense last stand while the D was an unadulterated piece of crap unable to stop a cold time and time again, riddled with dumber than shit penalties. This CS is total garbage, much like our ownership. Mark my words, all the young folks we want to get rid off after this game will have stellar careers under good leadership. This organization is a joke.

The problem is we know the defense is terrible. So it’s up to Adams and Rodgers to not put it in the defense’s hands. I think Rodgers said Downing called a draw play and he checked out of it. That was the right call. Adams should have stayed in bounds, but Rodgers should have just gone with the original call. It’s common sense, but each play a different player/coach decides to lack it.

Based on the Jets history of signing expensive free agents this should be viewed as a positive. I am struggling to think of a single big money signing the Jets have made in the last decade that's actually lived up to expectations.

Is it just me or do players suddenly become stupid when coming to the Jets?

Don’t disagree with the later at all. I think it was foolish gold to think AR would save us because of our bad D. The premise was from day one, and I quote our CS, give us a lead for a change and the D would do the rest……such a massive farce. The D was shaky under RS, but after he was fired, it has been a hot mess.

I really think the DL changes is what made a huge difference. JJ, JFM, and Jefferson played really well for us last year, and their replacements are quite a bit worse. Also McD did step up to replace Huff, but still I think Huff was a better run defender, and we had both McD AND Huff last year. So, the defense was on the way down even with Bob, but when he left it completely deteriorated. Which it probably would over time anyway, but without Saleh it was worse faster.

Basically Saleh was the DC of this team, and Brick was an assistant DC. With JD destroying the DL, Saleh somehow managed to hold it together occasionally, and when he left, his DC assistant couldn't quite do it and it went from bad to worse. Which is why I think with Saleh we could have probably won 7 games still. However, that is not good enough either, and I would rather win 4 games than 7.

Could very well be. Although I read JD wanted to retain the players and had the contracts drafted, and Woody said no to renegotiations for existing players. In either case…..we got worst across the board.

That was bunch of horseshit reported by un-reputable reporter with unreliable sources who have their own agenda (what's up JD). We did extend existing players, like Carter, and signed a lot of new contracts as well, including Reddick. JD could have extended Huff as well a year ago for cheap but picked McD instead of JSN to replace him. He also got Kinlaw for double what Jefferson was making. Clearly he though he was getting an upgrade. What makes more sense is that JD fucked up on many fronts. Picking DL when he shouldn't have, then losing proven players, bringing in others that sucked or didn't want to play, or both, like Reddick, etc... And Woody fucked up for keeping him when both he and Bob should have been fired in January.
