How many QB has this team drafted over the years, and how many of those guys to date have ended up having better careers then Jameis Winston?

If you can't even figure out a way to at least win more games then we are now with Jameis as your QB....why is a young rookie QB going to be any different THIS time?

At some point the Jets have to eventually stop always chasing the easy lies instead of the hard truths. There is no magic "just draft the right QB and he'll save the day" fix to this franchises current problem.

*This* NYJ team is infinitely more likely likely to catch decent veteran QB production in a bottle for a season or 2 then it is to develop a young kid from scratch right now. When that actually changes then, and only then imo, can the conversation on potentially drafting a QB change with it.

I think if the Jets can just manage to get the management (GM/coach combo) more or less right this offseason we should all just take that happily as a win. It doesn't even have to be the next Parcells or whatever else we define perfection as, just get a "good" combo that has some good ideas, good system, good staff etc and hopefully the pieces can start falling into place quickly if they pull that off.

In my opinion we've been running at or near league-worst front office/coaching staff since Rex Ryan 12+ years ago. And obviously its really hurt us. Just getting up to mid pack would be an incredible boost.

The funny thing is I also see one franchise QB in this draft, but I don't think we're talking about the same QB.

So you're saying he can be the redux of 2000 Testeverde? Frustrating, yet entertaining

Sadly that would be an improvement of the past decade....

Why waste your time on this? This is a bullshit franchise. I barely even watch the games anymore.
Its a time suck and a soul suck.
The only way to beat Woody is to stop supporting the team.

Fuck, I didn't know that. Do we keep him for two years and just juice him with all the drugs he likes and doesn't like?

You may be right just to cut him, but it's so much fucking money for nothing.
Why can't a more deserving person get that dead money. It could save lives.

I think that statement is very telling of the QB class coming out. There’s not a ton at the top of the draft. I think Shedeur is far and away the best QB in the draft. I’d take a crack at Jalen Milroe because he’s unbelievably talented but I’d hope to put him on the bench year one.

Everyone else for me is a hard pass in round one. Cam Ward is going to turn the ball over at a monstrous rate in the NFL in my view. The rest are 3rd round flyers.

It doesn’t matter how many times they’ve tried and failed, it’s the only option if you care about trying to win a Super Bowl. Proven failures at QB are not going to get you there, ever. You may win more games with one than a rookie qb, you may even get into the playoffs and even win a game, but you will never sniff a Super Bowl and it’s back to square one the next year. The only way to consistently be a threat to win one year after year is to have a franchise qb. Anything else is a failure.

No team “knows” what a qb will be during the draft. If they did, Allen would have gone 1, Lamar would have gone 2, Trubisky would not have been taken over Mahomes, Tua would not have been taken over Herbert, Purdy would not be a 7th rounder, Brady would not be a 6th rounder, the list goes on and on. You keep trying until you get one, because anything else will only yield a failed year.

Ok that’s why we all have opinions. I built this entire thing based on the fact that I don’t believe there is a franchise QB that will be waiting for the Jets at their draft spot.

I don’t believe you keep taking quarterbacks in the first round no matter what. I do believe you keep taking them if you think they’re going to be franchise QBs, but I don’t think most of these guys will be one so I wouldn’t take them.

Not sure what’s so hard to understand.
