Obviously a couple of these are true, but a bunch seem like bullshit. And most didn't happen in the "last few weeks" either. Seems every time the Jets hit a low point in a season, and usually coincidentally right around when the playoffs become out of reach, the press publishes this type of exposé hatchet job - the more outlandish the better. Joe Douglas clearly leaking some stuff on his way out the door.
Dov Kleiman isn't his real name, and he's basically Manish Mehta if Manish didn't go by his real name and didn't do any actual journalism either.
I can’t wait to hear from some here that this is nonsense and he didn’t do it unilaterally, blah, blah, blah. The head of the snake that created 20 years of shit is still the owner and no top GM and or CS would want any part of his shit show. Thinking things will be better moving forward is lunacy. He ties the hands of those he hire.
Very little of that makes sense. I get him forcing Tyron Smith signing (maybe) and Adams trade. At least Woody had a plan at left tackle if that’s the case though lol. I doubt he even knew who Mike Williams was or who Tony Adams is though.
Guessing a lot of that was leaked by JD himself in a pissed off rant-it-out phone call yesterday after being fired? The Jeudy thing makes me QQ
Chasing after a aging/injury prone "1000 yard receiver", based on a few sportcenter highlights over the years and without any real rational thought put into what that player would actually look like *here* in the Hackett offense, is totally fitting to that type of thought process imo.
Mike Williams probably came through in the clutch for Woody to win the Johnson family Fantasy league.... elevating him to guru status while making Chris his eternal lil bitch...
I believe it, woody is trying to play fantasy gm with a 7 billion dollar franchise, the dolans used to try to do the same thing with the Knick’s and rangers and were hated as much as woody, than they gave up hired competent people and the knicks and rangers make the playoffs every year. There is no way any respected coach or gm comes here if woody is going to interfere with every day decisions, get ready for another coordinator to be your head coach hire.
Honestly, not living in New York, I think they damage their own sport franchises with the media. It's suffocating, especially with the players and coaches. I lived in Boston for many years, just as big a sports city. The media just as large, but you don't see 5 percent of these crazy media interactions, asking the same negative questions constantly, and the hosts who are more game show then sports talk. Their media still actually supports the team while asking tough questions. NY media are more like wolves attacking prey. It just seems exhausting to play on a NY sports team. You can try to elevate yourself and call it "playing in NY," but I don't think that playing in NY means dealing with that bullshit. And I think people in the sport are starting to feel the same way. The Jets would suck regardless, but this thread seemed like a good place.
It is not the job of the media to support anything, its job is to supply the populace with information.
Boston's media is a fraction of the size of NY's media. It's not even in the same stratosphere in terms of the number of media outlets and ghouls following, writing and talking about their teams. Apples and oranges.
Boston's fans and media have piles of trophies to content themselves with. New York has decades of failure.
Is there any reporting as to why Tony Adams was benched, Woody-related or not? Because I haven't seen it. Ulbrich said he wanted to keep that in house, which is all I know. And why Tony Adams, but not, say, Micheal Clemons or Solomon Thomas??
