I agree in the sense that I also don’t think this needs to be a full on tear down. I think there is talent here.

I think the biggest issues are (1) get the right HC, then (2) figure out the QB assuming Rodgers doesn’t come back, and then (3) get the OL bolstered up

None of those are easy slam dunks, but hey, if a team is looking for a new HC, it’s going to be a bad team, and we’re bad, but not bottom of the barrel bad

Totally agree. The new GM will inherit a roster with too many overpaid underachieving vets. Douglas also left us without the jets original 3rd round picks in 2025 and 2026.
Time to move on from Rodgers, LT Smith, CJ Mosely, DJ Reed, Zuerlien, Morestead, etc.
No, those are not the guys would could FETCH draft picks. Those of the guys who should be REPLACED with draft picks and free agents.
Bring on the wrecking ball! :D

You can't keep them all without paying them all. To even exercise the fifth year option for Ahmad would cost $20 million - is he worth it? His sauce is weak.

I can't stand guys who switch teams but If Nania would come from the Carolinas to run the Jets, I will go run the Panthers and kick ass every time we meet.

Personally, I know I can never root for any other football team but the Jets, but we all have our crosses to bear. It would make me very sad to lose you and so many others on this board because the team is in one of it's many and predictable downturns. I think we need each other for no other reason than misery loves company, and the distraction and joy we get from reading each other's posts. To all on this board and all Jets fans out there I say hang tough, stay connected. It's easy to root for your team when they are winning, a challenge when they are losing. Based upon what I read from all my TGG poster buddies, I think we are all up to the challenge.

I know, good analytic mind, but please don't put any ideas on Woody’s head. I’m already terrified as to what his next move is.

Apparently, there is an in depth article coming soon from the Post on the top potential GM and HC candidates under consideration. I live in mortal fear that Woody and his political/financial staff would select the top candidates themselves. Is it too crazy for me to think he should hire a couple of all time gurus like Parcel or someone like him to help with the process.

A guru like Charley Casserly? We’ve been there before

Even after dumping all those players, the Jets have some pretty good talent. They have solid o-line starters and a bunch of others. This doesn't have to be a total rebuild.

Well, I never considered Casserly a Guru, so there is that.
Isn't that the goal, what we want to end up with, a top football guy as GM? It takes one to know one. Purcell and Casserly are in two different stratospheres. Woody btw is not close to either.

Parcells is pretty old, even for an advisory role. Idk if he even knows some of the top young candidates

Parcells is an old man now. Forget him. You go to Pete Carroll and a few other contemporaries who have recently been in the league for consulting advice if that's the route they decide to go.

I’m good with that. Leaving the selection solely to woody. D his staff terrifies me

This reeks of Woody leaking some options and waiting for the social media feedback

The Jets are like the Yin/Yang symbol. A sea of losing with a tiny little white spot of winning. It's not healthy to constantly follow/root for a losing situation. Especially if it isn't family related. Of that you have no choice. My guess is no one, on the good ole' TGG, has any family in the Jets organization so it's just another "corporation" that is failing in it's primary mission, Winning Football Games. We shall see...
