Yeah I get it…I know it’s silly to base it on just one game. But I don’t, sometimes I just feel it in my gut and it is what it is. I felt the exact same way when I watched Vernon Gholston show a total zero in his championship game. I called it then too.

I guess to me, GREAT doesn’t wilt under pressure. I get he was facing the top D…but it’s still a college D. The NFL defenses are even better. If he can’t show then, in the most important game of his college career, then I don’t want him. I just saw a mess of a QB that reminded me a lot of Zach with the terrible mechanics, poor footwork, and wildly inaccurate throws.

Ah well, of course I could be wrong. Time will tell…for sure I’m not a pro scout.

Yup, I sure do and I believe that with Saleh and Douglas gone the Jets have a better than 50/50 chance to win more than 1/3 of their games in the next six years. Progress!

LOL! Yup…that’s where we are…the bar is SO low…we’re hoping we can win more than 33% of our games!

It’s just crazy how bad we are and have been for so long…the list of bad hires is brutal. Time after time Woody makes the wrong decision. Always.

The last decent GM we had was Tanny who was Parcells’ guy…once he left, Woody has struck out every time with Idzik, Mac and now JD. I think JD is the best of that bunch but that’s not saying much. HC hires have been just as bad. Went from Rex to Bowles to Gase to Saleh. Rex was the only one to have some kind of success.

You’d think just out of sheer chance we’d have hit on SOMEBODY.

    Fuck Woody

As for all the information that came out in The Athletic article, it was insightful but who from the inside is giving out this info. It is just as bad to have an insider chronicle the events and give out this information as it is for Woody to make these moves. Who watched Joe D go sit on the bus during the Pittsburgh game and comment on it? This whole thing is just so out of whack.

It was Joe Douglas just like the Saleh article was Joe Douglas. Plain as day.

Well, look at the positive, Woody didn't let Joe Douglas run the draft and then fire him a week later...

LOL. Guys, can we be reasonable for a minute here. The article claimed Woody didn't want to spend any money, but he agreed to extend Carter for 30 mil, Spend 20 mil on Trent Williams, 15 mil on Reddick, 10 mil for Big Mike. Huff was let go on the first day of free agency before any of these signings. JD fucked up and is blaming Woody to save face. Btw Woody is to blame not for not giving JD a chance as article claims ... but for keeping JD too long. Give me a break. Blatt and Rusinni are looking for clicks and are listening to any source with juicy info. The article just doesn't make any sense. Seems like someone in FO, (cough Joe cough) is trying to save face so they can get another job.

Just like Woody wanting to bench Rodgers a game after he had MVP like performance in NE, but then bringing Davante to play with him. This is just illogical. Don't believe any reports siting "sources" from these two people. It's very apparent they don't have any credible sources.

It's obvious now, but Douglas's ability to manipulate the media to write positive stories about him is the reason why so many thought (and apparently a few still think) he was ever a good hire to begin with.

with McShay, Douglas for favorable press he was clearly a friend/college buddy

but I wonder with guys like Rosenblatt how much the treatment of Manish Mehta influenced his coverage? Mehta is clearly a psycho. But Douglas pushed to have his credentials revoked and pushed to eventually get him fired.

Rosenblatt didn’t want to suffer the same fate so he kept Douglas in a positive light in everything he wrote

I liked Joe Douglas. I was wrong. And now all these leaks after? He’s a loser. As is Saleh. As is Woody for having them employed for so long. It’s sad, really.

The Manish thing always made me feel like the rest of the Jets' beat treated Douglas with kid gloves 100% of the time after that.

I disagree... I ABSOLUTELY believe that Rodgers was wholly a Johnson concoction. Lock, stock and barrel. Maybe Johnson and a handful of the other non-football morons running our front office.

However, there is no way I can be convinced that either Douglas or Saleh wanted to hang their collective NFL future on a 40 year old quarterback that was already "lesser" in the last year or two with Green Bay. Both men were already on the wrong side of the win column and someone was going to "convince" them that Hackett, coming off one of the worst head coaching gigs in recent memory, was going to "save their bacon" along with Rodgers? I don't believe it. Not for a minute. ESPECIALLY considering how bad Russell Wilson looked in Denver. I can be convinced of things like they really wanted Wilson. He lit it up at the combine and he was an unknown quantity. But Hackett/Rodgers? No sir, there was all kind of NFL proof that Hackett was really a "sheep in wolves clothing" as well as Rodgers was on the decline.

So, yes, I believe that Foolie aka Woody and his merry band of bean counting/marketing buddies thought Rodgers was the "bees knees."

I don’t know how much JD and Saleh wanted or didn’t want Rodgers and Hackett…we’ll never really know.

But I 100% believe Woody was the driver there

If Saleh, and especially Douglas, thought Rodgers was a terrible move they had the obligation to talk Johnson out of it, even if it was a marketing move. I have never seen a single word anywhere that happened. And why was no QB brought in overnight on September 12 2023 if Saleh and Douglas were against hiring Rodgers?

I don't know why you're telling me about Hackett or Russell Wilson, they only serve to confuse the issue of going after Rodgers. And when you mention "Wilson" lighting it up at the combine, if you're talking about Russell in 2012 it is pretty meaningless after eight years in the league. If you're talking about Zach, he didn't participate.at the combine
