I'm an "old timer" and I'm VERY offended! I'm SO offended I'm going to tell Wood-RUFF to fire JD and SELL the team...wait....
What’s funny and terrifying is the disfunction is now becoming a national story and Woody is dead center in the crosshairs being depicted as the complete and total incompetent clown that he is. The terrifying thing is he’s made himself look so bad that I could easily see Trump distancing himself and not giving him a cushy ambassador job again, which of course means he’ll still be here around the team.
nah, he gave trump almost $2 million directly, he paid for that ambassadorship. besides, clearly he's not afraid of bureaucrats that make him look bad
Todd McShay: “If you’re a Jets fan, you know exactly what I’m talking about. This is not news to you. I feel badly for Jets fans because if it wasn’t going to work with this regime, with that talent on the field, I don’t see much of a future in terms of where it’s going to be. Ownership is not going to change for a while is my guess. So how are you going to overcome this? And the answer is you probably don’t.”
Well, three years ago who had Aaron Rodgers emerging from a darkness retreat, choosing us as the team he decides to prolong his career with, we get the deal done, ten seconds as a Jet he's out for the year, year two he's a shadow of himself but we double down and bring in more of his ex teammates but that doesn't work either so our HC and GM get canned? No one of course. How can Woody top or equal this? Because you know he will... I predict we'll have the Kelce brothers running the show. First Jason, then next year Travis retires to join him or plays here for one year as a bad TE. Many TV Jets themed commercials follow for breakfast cereal, car insurance, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc. Travis and Taylor marry, and the bride wears green. After two season, 27 losses and a Taylor/ Travis divorce, they're fired and we are back here again in 2028.
The hardest part about this is the fact Woody will never address the media, even during the Bye week (which would be a great time to). He's just this feckless, spineless, hides behind the shadows kind of owner and it sucks.
This organization is DYSFUNCTIONAL!. It's time we send a message to Ownership that we don't want you. Sell the team. I suggest boycotting a game and no one shows up. 24 years is enough!!! I have been a fan for over 50 years and I have had enough. Let's send a message we want you out. YOU ARE FIRED!!! If we can't organize that then a chant of WOODY MUST GO! should be heard at every game. Might be a good start. Since he likes social media, we should all post NY JETS - Woody must go!!! YOU ARE FIRED!!!
Sell the team woody! Can you be ambassador to Afghanistan or Somalia or Mars? The skiing in North Korea is nice year round
Personally I loved hearing the Sell the Team chants at the home games… Would love even more something like a Woody Sucks chant Let the players know that its not them we are booing…its the dipshit fucking waste of an owner
A good business person would see that the team holds the #5 spot in team value at $6.9b and there is little chance they jump further given the state of this team. Even if this team revises the roster, makes the playoffs they will never compete with the Cowgirls for the top spot. He made his money, his team is a mess, his CS and front office are a mess, he's been outed as the main reason for the dysfunction... and yet the team still has value... if its me I'd sell now before the value drops and I bet it does... Eagles, Bears, Commanders, Dolphins, Texans are teams on the rise and so will their value. Sell while you can still get #5 slot value because you won't be top 10 shortly. No one ever accused Woody of being a) a business man (he's at trust baby) or b) being smart. Even wealthy dummies know to surround themselves with smart people to make decisions and make them look smarter... Woody??? he surrounded himself with his idiot brother... as the saying goes... you can't fix stupid !
I don't believe there is any basis for connecting the on field success of the Jets with the growth of the team's value. The chance that the team jumps higher remains the same as it has proven to be in the past. The NFL structure of profit sharing minimizes the effect of wins and losses while simple geography and demographics are maximal in value growth. There is little chance the franchise value decreases. For perspective: The 2019 franchise value was $3.2 billion - it has more than doubled in the period they won fewer than a third of their games.
It's no different than say Verizon, netflix etc. Much of the value comes from the subscribers / fans. Woody has turned fans off that is damaging to their relative value. Other teams growing their fan base does impact the perceived value. Let's see what happens with season ticket sales the next few years and how many jersey's are sold concessions etc. Everything matters and Woody have screw it up royally.
