who is going to want to work for cheapo woody?

tv revenue share covers players cap cost, but rest vcomes out of concessions and owmer's pocket.

denver owners ponied up to pay sean peyton, and ate russell wilson cap hit.

do you honestly think woody would do that?

with all the teams looking, why would anybody good pick the Jets? let's be honest!

Mike Borgonzi (Chiefs) Andy Weidl (Steelers) John Spytek (Bucs) should be near the top of the wish list for the Jets GM search.

Well yes, totally. Woody has come NOWHERE close to earning the benefit of the doubt here. He has fucked up EVERY SINGLE FUCKING HIRE he’s made. We’ve gone from Tanny to Idzik to MacCagnon to JD, and from Mangini to Rex to Bowles to Gase to Saleh. None of those guys succeeded here outside of 2 good years with Rex, and none of them went on to real success elsewhere outside I guess of Bowles at TB, but I don’t really think he’s been great there…he’s been lucky to be playing in a trash division where he won the division with basically a .500 record.

So no, I ain’t buying in on anything Woody does until we see it prove out in wins on the field.

    Well said…can’t say I disagree

Saying I fucking HATE Woody is not nearly a strong enough way to say it. He is beyond terrible. All the things you said are true…he has no clue about anything here. Just a spoiled rich idiot who was born into money but never actually did anything himself.

Thing is, as much as the "full house clean" makes sense to us and to the beat reporters, I believe Woody is a small man who probably wants the famous HOF Aaron Rogers to like him. So, he'll cower to him.

If they only could relegate the Jets and force the owner to sell

The fucking Lions (the worst franchise historically ever) have turned it around in short time. The Niners turned it around from shit to great in short time.

As already mentioned, Washington just turned it around overnight and Texans was quick.

The blueprint is there. There is no excuse not to find at least a solid candidate if Woody does his due diligence. Hire the best, proven NFL minds for consulting advice on who to hire as the architect of this team. Speak to Carroll, Gruden, Parcells, Holmgren, all the greats.

BOTH those teams have franchise QB's. THAT is something, in the decades the Jets have been a professional football team, that has not been accomplished. Do you have confidence this dumpster fire has the ability to draft a F-QB? I don't. Sure as hell not in 2025 where there is NO F-QB coming out.

Both teams “found” franchise QB’s after they hired aforementioned coach. I think that’s the point. There was a lot of skepticism about both prospects too. They were taken high but neither were considered slam dunks.

You are correct! The Blueprint IS there. Let's look at the facts though. Washington, only AFTER they got rid of their turd of an owner was there clarity and they were able to bring in a solid F-QB. Houston wasn't all that bad. They were good with Deshaun Watson, really very good. Moving on from him took a year or two but they picked a F-QB and now they are where they are. The Lions. Again, SOLID GM and a very SOLID HC hire along with a blockbuster trade of QB swapping to give up a F-QB for a younger F-QB that fit their system. Also, a damn owner that knows how to keep her hands off the franchise.

"We" have no such luck in Jets land. We have a meddling owner that thinks he knows it all and his LACK of know how is on full display with every crappy GM/coaching hire along with his meddling when a GM/Coach is IN the building! In the Jets case it really does start and end with the Owner. He's a horrible human being too so I don't see the Jets having any "luck" fall their way in stumbling on a decent GM/HC.

C.J. Stroud, I agree. Jayden Daniels, I disagree. IMHO, Daniels was the best prospect QB this year, not the kid from USC. Actually, to be frank, the BEST QB prospect, in the 2024 draft is still riding the pine down in Atlanta. Penix is going to be a good QB in the league for a long while. But, of the kids playing right now, Daniels is the best of them. However, I digress...

Your point is well taken. Problem is, what HC is going to come in to save us and draft that F-QB with Moron Johnson running the show?

    Holy moly.

Finding out about this at this moment.

What a incompetent, impulsive ahole Woody is. He should fire himself, sell the team next.

WHY NOW MAN?!! WHY NOT AFTER LAST SEASON?

    We could've had Jim Harbaugh.

Dude just quit on this season. Wasted everyone's time.

To go through a entire offseason to quit on the season & fire the HC and the GM before the season is even close to over just shows he has no idea what he's doing. There are still 6 games left.

This is so sad so heartbreaking.

Funny that both the Texans and Commanders had the #2 pick and drafted the 2nd guy, and both have so far proven to be better than the first guy drafted…Stroud is better than Young, and Daniels is better than Williams.

Of course, when the Jets drafted 2nd overall, the it was the first guy who was better.

    So typically JETS

Posters that say this guy was good forget all his missteps... He talked, when he did, about the team but ask yourselves, is this really a team? There is, and hasn't been any direction for this team other then to say we are going to the SB... LOL. They have collected a bunch older players and some good young players but nothing about who the JETS are or what they represent. Its been that way for years and I believe JS and RS created a worse "culture" then existed before they came.

They, JD/RS, are losers, period and I say good riddances.

    Wow…really?

Of all the QBs in this year’s draft, I wanted absolutely NO part of Penix. I don’t think he’s going to be good at all. I watched that championship game and he was all kinds of terrible…bad footwork, bad mechanics, inaccurate as shit. I hated what I saw. Granted I know it’s kind of silly because honestly that’s the only game of his I watched in full, but still. I kind of have this thing about great players showing up in big games and in key spots. And he didn’t. At all. Not even close.

So time will tell I guess but I’m glad he was drafted before us because I was kind of getting a bit worried that had he been there when we were on the clock, we may have taken him, and I just hated that idea.

Who knows…I could be wrong, but I just don’t see it with him. Same way I wasn’t buying any of the hype on Rome Odunze. I don’t see greatness in that guy either.

There remains only one constant during the years of ineptitude

    Woody Fucking Johnson

He should hire a top guy, give him the keys to the building then go on 5 year vacation on a small desert island with zero contact with the organization.

This should have been done before the trade deadline but I'll take it.
