yeah the guy you are responding to thinks Rodgers has some voodoo spell on everyone. If the Jets don’t win with him, they will want to replace him.
Douglas struck a somber tone in his midseason media briefing Wednesday, acknowledging the frustration of a 3-6 start and a 30-62 record over five-plus seasons on the job. The crushing blow came last month when his head-coaching hire (Robert Saleh) was fired without his input. He declined to comment on whether he agreed with Johnson's decision, preferring instead to paraphrase a former U.S. Secretary of State. "I think Colin Powell said it in a different arena: I serve at the pleasure of the owner," said Douglas, trying to be a team player even though he has to be wondering about the way everything played out. Douglas doesn't have a contract for the 2025 season, so his future is very much in doubt. "Whatever happens, happens," he said, still hopeful they can make a playoff run.
I think that was an ole lady in N'awlins... In retrospect, VOODOO may be the only explanation on how this franchise has been such a snakebitten mess...
Wacken must have really fallen off over the years if Bodycount was playing there 30 years after they were relevant. Holy crap.
Just got done cleaning the coffee I spit all over my screen. Yeah, put this dude in charge and he'll take a multi-billion dollar franchise and bankrupt it in less than 5 years. Don't get me started... Ok, 100 deep breaths later... No politics on TGG, no politics on the TGG.... Let's really call out the Elephant in the room. It doesn't matter if it was Leon Hess or Wood-RUFF Johnson, the NY Jets have stunk up the NFL since they collected their one and only Lombardi Trophy. Outside of 3 or 4 seasons they haven't been relevant in over 50 years. Statistically, you could put the ENTIRE set of Jets positives, across their entire existence, in one 5 year period of the last Patriots run...without the Super Bowls. There's so much broken with this franchise that it will take 3 generations worth of good luck to fix it. The term "Lovable Losers" come to mind...a lot of the time WITHOUT the "loveable" part. It is what it is. I've learned, within just the last week, to accept mediocrity and not let things get me too riled up. I'm getting too old and there is not 1 thing I can do about any of it. I've kind of resigned myself to just enjoy the game, no matter who is on, and go with it. For as long as NFL football lasts anyway.
Tomorrow. Fire him tomorrow. this has been the most incompetent most miserable 6 year stretch of Jets football I can ever remember.
Agreed. His performance doesn't allow for him to be able to leave with the ability to spin it as though he decided not to return. They can't fire him after the season because his contract runs out. He needs to be FIRED.
6 years in and somehow the offensive line is worse than day 1, wasted a bunch of 1st round picks on offensive lineman and a bunch of money and the offensive line is still insanely bad, had a chance to trade up for Harrison or draft bowers in a all in year but drafted a project offensive lineman who does not play? I mean this guy is fully retarded. Nothing he does make sense or pans out, guy is living off 1 good draft and fleecing Seattle for 6 years now
They're not going to fire him in-season. They already used Saleh as the fall guy. Woody also doesn't want to admit their all-in season (including a desperation trade for valuable draft assets mid-season) has failed miserably any sooner than he needs to. They'll play this horrid string of games out before making that change. The circle jerk rolls on.
100%. He does not deserve the dignity of a spin or finishing out this season after what he put us thru the last 6 years. Literally couldn’t have been worse. Tomorrow !
Jets are so lucky that there is no relegation in the NFL the way there is in soccer or they would be in the New Jersey minor league eastern division and struggling in that
Wilson and Sauce winning OROY and DROY (though all that did was fool people into thinking the Jets could draft)
You have to wonder how much politicking was done to make that miracle happen. Trade them both in the offseason.
Yep. There's no point in anyone in the front office being here anymore. Start the search and give the new guy ample time to figure out who else to fire and start preparing for the draft and next season.
His contract is up so there’s no need to fire him. Keep him on and let him own another last place finish until January
Should have fired this bum with Saleh but there's just more brain dead morons to take over as interim.
