That makes sense, trade a talented player to the one team we are competing for a playoff spot with

Good trade and well done to get some future value out of a situation I was honestly left expecting they'd be too delusional to snatch up. Williams was obviously not gelling with Rodgers and likely to just end up being mostly invisible roster rot RoS.

I guess Corley gets to hopefully be an opportunity winner in this.

Corley was already inching his way into PT. Now he can really make waves…I’m excited to see more speed on the field with Gipson/Corley.

Good. Now trade some of the bigger pieces.

What’s dumb about it? He looks washed and doesn’t really play and it’s not hurting the offense that he’s on the bench.

He’s also on a one year deal and won’t be back next year for a 3-5 team. Getting something back for him is the right move.

Yeah…was hoping he’d come along but he hasn’t really done too much, and with Adams and GW starting, I can live with some combo of Lazard/Gipson/Corley (assuming he learned from his dumbass ball drop) … it’s only a 5th round pick so not worth much, but this trade doesn’t make or break anything, and agree…he likely wasn’t coming back next year anyway

I think it is dumb too. You reward a guy for not working out here by trading him to a contender in your own conference. 2 years in a row they've done that.

I also dont think he's washed up

because the trio of Williams, Adams, and Wilson. Looks a lot better than.. Adams, Wilson, Corley. Trading within the conference sucks too. I'm sure they were the highest bidder though.

I wonder If they were trying to trade Lazard Instead but because he Is hurt, that was a no go.

Somehow, I think I got caught up In how the offense looked against the Texans. To the point I thought we might have a chance with this schedule.

Getting something out of a one year rental Is good value though. I just hate giving up on another season. Sucks being a NYJ fan, my friend. :/

Pittsburgh is making some great moves btw. You have to admire how hard they are trying to win

He might not be washed up but he certainly has looked washed in his limited playing time here.

Right or wrong, there’s not really a fit here right now at least in how they’re using him. They’re not running him on fly routes down the field and when he has run those, he hasn’t caught many balls and has looked goofy trying to catch them.

Who cares about trading him though in reference to the “rewarding” him thing?

It looks better on paper and without any real actual consideration to the reality setting, sure. But it doesn't matter how good MW might have looked somewhere and previously to coming here. Or how much better he might end up looking in Pittsburgh.

MW has caught 12 ball this year, and 1 ball last week with Lazard out of the mix. He isn't gelling with the team's QB, likely wasn't happy being here (while being promised a trade post-Rodgers incident to get him back in the temp fold), and outside preseason paper theory ended up being a clearly bad skill player fit for this poorly coached Hackett offense that isn't changing RoS.

It's not even giving up on the season as much as it's simply acknowledging a clear swing and miss FA signing and getting some value back on it.

Curious to see how much better he does in Pittsburgh with Arthur Smith seemingly being more willing to open things up a little more with Russ at QB.

With Lazard on IR, I'd rather keep Williams as a contingency. Don't like it. A fifth is meaningless at this point.

He's a good fit with Russel Wilson's deep ball.... Pitt back in the playoffs

Mike Williams value was only a 5th rounder

Not exactly high value player..so meh

So now you need to keep all your receivers all healthy..especially D Adams who prob is worth 2 Mike Williams ..right??

rogers >>Adams need to start lighting it up please!
