During the telecast Al Michaels was talking about Rodgers trying to sell them a way out of the 2-6 hole. He made it sound like Rodgers was looking at the schedule. That's a big no no in NFL circles. Supposed to be one game at a time? After seeing the games the Jets have lost to Denver when favored, New England last week really just take it one game at a time please. Arizona beat Miami last week.
Nothing has changed but worse draft position and maybe hope for Woody and Jd to go all in and trade away more picks, still a poorly coached dumb team. Even worse today than past weeks. We just got lucky that Houston didn't play like a 6-2 team today and Stroud was ass.
I am very happy with this win. I watched most of the game (unplanned but the wife is sick in bed so...) anyway... I am most;y very happy for all you mokes who watch these miserable fucks and deal with the agita. after an absolute howler of a 1st half y'all deserved something of a treat this Halloween.
Agree all day long on poor coaching We have GOT to be one of the stupidest and most undisciplined teams in the league for sure. That Corley mistake was fucking inexcusable and just SO stupid. Take two steps and THEN drop the ball, you fucking idiot. There was no pressure on him…just run it in and then drop it. The penalties were again brutal. Just need a real coaching staff to come in here and weed this shit out. Parcells would have benched Corley for the rest of the game if not the next 6 games … zero tolerance for stupid shit. Hard enough to win in this league when you don’t beat yourself, and we excel at beating ourselves
Good call, changed my tip to Jets at last minute based on feel and what you've outlined above. Corley almost wrecked it but luckily we were able to overcome his stupidity.
I hope so but let's be honest, Texans were operating with a ton of injuries. We have our fair share too, but I'll wait to see consistent performances before getting my hopes up. Great to have a win though and happy Halloween hope everyone has a blast
I wouldn’t be fooled with the win. The Jets played sloppy and beat a team who performed like the 2024 Jets last night
Matchups are everything in sports and the Jets, for whatever reason, always matchup well with the Texans. The lack of discipline and boneheaded plays were still there. They have to follow this up with a win in Arizona next week otherwise this means nothing.
As I put in the game thread when I went to bed at 2am at half time - I thought the Jets would win as it is just so Jetsy to start to win when it is realistically too late to make the playoffs - I expect they will end up winning 7 or 8 games, miss the playoffs and Woody will reward JD with a new contract, make Ulbrich the HC on a permanent basis, bring back Rodgers for next year and the whole terrible cycle will begin again instead of blowing everything up
Jets have played 1 more game than most so hard to judge based on simple numbers but in terms of penalties it is telling that the Jets are #2 in terms of the worst ranking for net number of penalties (so the fact they've played more doesn't really matter)
Makes sense. Last night before the game they showed the Jets being first or second in most penalties against and yardage against
Tank Dell and Mixon couldn't be stopped, but the Texans kept screwing up when it counted. Very Jetsy.
The Jets are so poorly coached that like how awful they always look coming off of byes/long weeks these short weeks actually favor them because they don't game plan or do anything anyway.
When Rodgers ran for the first down near the end zone (called back for holding penalty) I turned to my wife and said that is the first time I've seen Aaron Rodgers play for the NYJ. If you would have told me a 5 years ago that he would be QB for the jets, this is the type of energy I would have expected. The second half is the first time I have seen him engaged on the field all season. *Outside of practice where he is coddled; in game he has consistently looked bored and bothered. His play has been bizarre from my point of view having watched his career. I am not happy we are in the position at Halloween to be practically out of the playoffs, but I will at least enjoy the remaining games if this dude is out there playing like he did in the second half.
Did you not watch the 1st NE game.... the week before he got hit 14 times vs Denver then bent in half vs Minnesota?
Now they'll string along enough wins to just miss the playoffs by a game or two.... that would've been won if the kicker could kick an XP or a gimme field goal....
