The trade deadline is on election day (11/5). Without mortgaging the future too much, are there any player deals that can be made? Mike Wiliams comes to mind as a potential piece. I know the Bucs and Niners are hurting at the WR position, maybe we can get a late round pick for him. I'd love to get a run stuffer, but, that seems like a pipe dream.

Not trading Mike Williams in this current injury driven WR market would be borderline criminal. The guys is about as square a peg to our round hole offense as it gets right now. Poor fit for the Hackett offense that will never properly utilize him, clearly not a Rodgers guy, and he'll basically just spend the remainder of his 1 year here eating up opportunity value that could otherwise ideally be going into trying to maybe get a long term piece like Corley involved.

No more buys though. Seriously. Enough with the Oak Island fantasy dig mentality. There is no Super Bowl to be found out of digging that hole any deeper.

Agreed…Williams as a trade piece just makes a lot of sense as he’s like WR4 right now…starting lineup of Adams, GW, Lazard and Gipson/Corley is fine. Probably would rather see Corley get more snaps ahead of Gipson…Gipson is a fine returner but as a WR he hasn’t really delivered a heck of a lot.

Mike Williams is just a matter of when, not if. Not smart for anybody to keep a starting-caliber WR as WR4 especially with many teams potentially needing receiver help. Let Corley get some WR4 snaps.

If this team loses their next 2, they should think more seriously about selling. But at that point JD would know he's gone at the end of the year and not sure how he'd approach it

The guy didn't want to come here to be a depth player, he'll probably completely check out if he gets the idea that he's stuck with the Jets this season after the Adams trade. It makes the most sense to unload him in an opportunistic market with multiple suitors.

I fully expect Douglas to keep him.

I would be interested in getting Clowney and a fatty to play next to Quinnen

Clowney would be a great pickup, come cheap and help the run D and pass rush. Might be worth it if they win Sunday and can get him for a later Day 3 pick

I kind of still think Reddick will be traded. He'll have 2 games to prove he can produce before the deadline and one of them is against the Pats' busted up Oline.

We should be sellers not buyers

The 2nd round pick stipulation thing if he gets re-traded to the NFC seems like a deal breaker on that to me.

Just too steep a price imo.

Yes we should be as that’s the better long term view, but no one on this team is thinking long term…Rodgers isn’t, Adams isn’t, JD for sure isn’t, and Woody isn’t.

They will not give up on the season at this point…the real question is what happens if we just finish like 6-11 or 7-10 again…what do they do in the offseason then?

Just like typical Jets fashion, nothing would align…we’d have an old QB and WR in win now mode, a GM out the door or resigned, yet a team needing a rebuild. Again.

    Just god-awful planning and execution

I am almost there, and may be there in 3 or 7 days. But ... it just depends on what happens in the next two games. if we somehow manage to get back in it at 4-5 (very unlikely I know but what if), I would want to upgrade DL and would actually hold on to Big Mike. We are not going to get much for him (6th round pick swap?) and his salary is almost paid anyway. Might as well keep him in case someone gets hurt, unless we are in the tank mode by then, which is very possible. But not at 4-5.

Even at 3-6 (loss to Houston) with Arizona and Indy the next two after they are still very much “alive”. This isn’t me saying they will go on a run, but i don’t really see any scenario where JD starts selling assets for picks considering he’s gone if they don’t make the playoffs

Depends on how they look and what the cost is of Clowney, etc, but generally speaking I would not be investing in 3-6 team. The way I look at it now, we need to get next 2 to invest.

I'd love to trade Williams for some big bodies up front that could clog up the middle and stop the run.

Keep Reed and get a boatload for Mr. Saufty. He is about to be due a ton of money and his impact is not worth it imo.
