you beat me to it... If the new HC had any balls,,, he would bench him if not for the injury but for poor performance.
He’s clearly been playing hurt since week 4, I believe. Whenever it was that he took those hits and was hobbling around and barely finished the game. Looked like it was a hamstring back then. He shouldn’t have played in London. Seemed obvious to me. Yet nobody in the building would ever dare tell Rodgers he’s not playing! Now, here we are…
If he's healthy enough to play you can't sit him. If you sit him when he could've played and win you're REALLY gonna see the circus come to town. I think best case scenario is he starts, we build a lead, and he doesn't have to play the whole game. He gets some rest and there's no controversy.
I think Rodgers is afraid of getting Wally Pipped. Imagine if he sits out, and Taylor comes in and lights it up. Not only would that bring a new circus to Florham Park, but Rodgers' ego wouldn't be able to stand it. Rodgers will continue to play, even if he needs a walker to get him onto the field.
Taylor will probably end up leading the Jets to a middling draft pick where they miss the playoffs because a field goal hits the uprights. The Jets Way
