I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere here, but I searched through thread titles and didn't see a topic on it so I'll address it. Does anyone out there think it's even remotely a coincidence that we traded for Adams and found a way to get Reddick into the fold the same week that invoices for season ticket holders went out? To paraphrase a comedian (I forgot who it was): coincidence? I think not. Did anyone else pick up on this? I know some of you will think I'm paranoid, but I've seen enough from this guy over the past 15 years since he seems to have lost his mind completely to know that there's no way this is a coincidence. And of course, in true Jets fashion, the whole thing backfired because the team got blown out on national TV. Had they won convincingly the other night, it wouldn't look as much like the gouging of the fans that it actually is.
I told them to shove their tickets up their asses, literally and verbatim, after the 2016 season. I'm with you man.
I get why it frustrates people and I never tell anyone how to spend their money. But I can’t for the life of me continuing to spend thousands of dollars on something and then being angry about it. Why wouldn’t the Jets try to get deposits? They’re an incredibly lucrative business with a loyal customer base that seems to come back no matter what.
I don't have a problem with them asking for deposits per se, if people will pay it, why not. My problem is that this buffoon of an owner continues to make moves that the front office should be making with the sole purpose of trying to boost those sales. Potato potahto, But when every move he makes to line his pockets sets my team back further, it can't help but annoy me. He just never learns.
Woody should donate an entire season to former and current STH for a season with a lottery. Now wouldn't that be some charitable contribution.
Call your ticket rep and complain and you can get the payments pushed back to January. I know 3 people so far who have done it. "Last year I pretty much said if I have to pay now I need to downgrade and they gave me the option to start in the new year if I put a very small deposit down. Today I just said I want to do that again and they said no problem"
The way the Jets are looking, you can probably get your payment pushed back to Week 1 on 2026. I know there is a sucker born every minute, but even one of those would be hard pressed to fool into supporting such a remedial product.
I have to agree with you here. I simply can't FATHOM how there are honest to goodness ACTUAL season ticket holders with this team!! Seriously? It's not like they were once good but now suck. This team has NEVER been consistently good for more than 2 years in a row!!!! Owning season tickets to this nightmare is like throwing your hard earned cash into a septic tank. Nothing but shit. I'm being honest here... What in the hell is it? Fuck, I haven't paid for a Jets game since, what, has to be at LEAST 1995. Even then it was a pre-season game and the tickets were on sale! So tell me, season ticket holders, what in the hell kind of pipe are you people smoking to be burning your "bread" like that? Oh, and the whole "family hand me down" thing isn't working for me. If you got handed down a shitty car you'd call Kars for Kids and get the write off on your taxes! I'm hoping you wouldn't leave it rot in your garage. So what is it? Take your kid to the stadium for abuse day? Teach your kids how not to play sports experience? I have heard some people say they do it for the tailgating. Fuck all....serious?!? Do that shit at home and save yourselves THOUSDANDS. Better yet, if you want to hang out with your "tailgate buddies" cart your ass to the local grocery store parking lot. A LOT more inexpensive AND you can go inside to buy beer refills! JSMH over here.
Eh I get it dude. If you have the money and you don’t have meltdowns when they lose, it’s a fun time. Tailgating is great, it’s a day out of the house for a lot of people, and all that.
My ass... Let me rephrase that for you.... Call your ticket rep and tell them to shove their tickets up their ass, with a bag of sand, and then put your number "on ice" until Wood-RUFF Johnson sells the fucking team to someone who will actually TRY and WIN a few games! STILL can't fathom people who BURN THOUSANDS of dollars only to turn around and bitch to high heavens about how the fucking team is run. The ONLY recourse fans have is to STOP-SPENDING-MONEY-ON-SHIT!!
I don’t know how ticket reps are paid or what their commission structure looks like but I know in the industry I work in, sales people don’t get paid until the company gets paid. So it’s not impossible for the ticket reps to want to do this? Just a thought.
Must be nice to have ass loads of cash laying around to set match to every year. Most of us WISH we had that particular problem.
I'm not trying to be literal here. What I'm trying to "understand" is how this shit hole nightmare continues. Year after year. The ONLY thing I can ascertain is Johnson doesn't NEED to do anything different because he has, quite clearly, THOUSANDS of people willing to burn thousands of dollars, fuck that, TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars on a day out of the house to bullshit around with "friends in the parking lot?" Is that what I'm hearing? If that is the case I guess I better begin actually "thinking" of finding some other team to root for because if my football enjoyment is being obliterated by people "hanging in the parking lot" pumping butt loads of cash into a ship that never quite fully sinks I'm up a creek without a paddle, life vest OR raft!
What's even more a shame is that when he walks away/passes away the teams going to his son Brick Johnson.
