Completely agreed. It's actually somewhat impressive just how bad Douglas has been putting together an O-line. He's actually worse at it than Maccagnan.
Not taking a TE in the top 10 is ok with me any day of the week. Same with a safety, off the ball LB, and usually RB unless it’s a unicorn. The jets absolutely needed a tackle, in the worst way possible (actually need 2). I said it at the time I think they picked the wrong one (I preferred Fautanu). I’m not a huge fan of Olu, never was, but attempting to draft a franchise tackle is better than attempting to draft a franchise TE. If you miss, I can live with that. I cannot live with drafting a TE and missing over a franchise tackle. That would be so jets.
He won't, though. He has a terrible coach and there's nobody in front of him showing him how to do it correctly. Whatever strides he makes he will have to make completely on his own.
At least Olu is available to play. Fautanu had knee issues at the time of the draft and is on IR now with the knee injury. No thanks.
I didn’t hear anything about him having knee issues before the draft. I’m not sure the Steelers did either, otherwise they wouldn’t have taken him in the top 20. If he did, though, obviously I’m not privy to those types of medical. If he had issues, it may have changed my mind on him, but I didn’t hear of any.

Yeah I'm out on Ruckert. He's too dumb. There was some inkling of this during the offseason prior to last year. I recall stories from training camp about Ruckert making mental mistakes leading to blown plays and Rodgers getting pissed about it.
I'd say activate Kuntz but he runs the wrong routes and he looks like a taller version of Sauce, so I doubt he'd be a effective blocker. Too bad it's so difficult to find journeyman TEs that have good hands and can block. It's like the Jets just can't figure that one out even when they don't feature TE that much. Yeboah, something, anything
10 catches for 94 yards as of now as the only realistic threat on offense with Davante gone and Jakobi Myers out.
Bowers is currently 8th in the NFL in receiving yards and 1st in receptions. He has 100 more receiving yards than any other TE. JD deserves to be fired for this whiff alone. To not even consider drafting Bowers shows he is completely incapable of identifying talent. It was so obvious Bowers would be good.
Bowers this year: Leads the NFL in receptions Most receptions by a rookie TE ever through 10 games Leads all NFL TEs in receiving yards Most receiving yards by a rookie TE through 10 games since Mike Ditka in 1961 Leads NFL TEs in yards after the catch I'm sick.
