I hear general comments like "bench this guy" or "trade for this position" but what can actually be done?

What run stuffing DL or LB might be available? What roster adjustments could be made?
anything specific we can realistically do?

I don’t know how much needs to be fixed. We don’t give up alot of points. Like Saleh said, if we wanna stop the run we’ll stop the run. But we need to be able to stop the run when we want to stop the passing game as well. Kinlaw looks clumsy, he just feels like a liability to me. Where are these prized undrafted DT’s that Douglas was puffing his chest about? Do they suddenly suck?

Try Taylor opposite of Q and go from there. Maybe if Reddick decides to play he’d help a lot

it seems the Jets have given Sherwood starting snaps last week when CJ was healthy to play…CJ played like 10 snaps and mostly in 3LB looks. Sherwood is quicker and better right now for this defense then CJ…do those things and see what comes of it.

There have to be a few fat-bodied DTs the Jets could poach off of practice squads, teams find role players to stop the run all the time, it's like they don't want a nose tackle. And the defensive alignment is almost begging teams to gash them inside. The spacing just sucks for the players they have.

I think that if they are flexible with personnel - and I don't know how flexible Ulbrich is but Saleh was not at all - they could take advantage of Sherwood's speed and audible shift from a 7 man front to a 6 man front with him dropping into a deep third when they read pass and free up Sauce to travel more. He's pretty damn good in coverage.

I was just asking the same thing the other day! You know, one of the things that kills me about MOST coaches is their penchant to play who's "safe" as well as the whole "coaches doghouse" thing. I don't care if one of these dudes WAS on the wrong side of who the fuck ever, get their asses on the field!!!! At the very least you know they WANT to be out there. Maybe some young cats running around, with their hair on fire, is just what this team needs. It sure as hell needs something!

I don’t understand how they haven’t went hunting for a true 330 pound nose tackle. Hassan Ridgeway should’ve been the first guy they called. We need a 2-gapper badly.

And also do not get why they continue to play 3 guys nearly on one side of the center with Will McDonald on the other side creating a massive natural seam. Ulbrich and friends need to realize this fucking week that we aren’t the 2007 Giants. We don’t have such overwhelming pocket collapsers from the edge that we can afford to leave those big seams.

I think Reddick will help although it's not his forte. This is another reason losing Jermaine was so big. The Jets definitely need help in that aspect.

Keeping Mosley benched for Sherwood could also help. I don't know why we stink against the run every time Mosley's in. Is he making the wrong reads or what?

Hopefully somebody shakes loose at the deadline who can bolster the run defense, especially up the middle because the Jets are getting eaten alive there.

last week was one of the few times I’ve seen them run 3 LB’s in early downs. Curious if that changes when MC2 comes back because he’s a good guy in run defense

I mean he hasn’t really played since the Tennessee game and I get the feeling Mosley isn’t healthy. I don’t think they’re “keeping him benched.” I think they were just easing him back in against Buffalo hence only playing 9 snaps.

We need to add a big body interior lineman immediately. Can we trade Hassan for a good one?

Bring the safeties closer to the line of scrimmage

sign Jamal Adams to be that safety so it’s not Ashtyn Davis

Leki Fotu just got healthy and played last week. He's a big body. Was hoping he might make a difference but it didn't seem like it. Didn't get that signing

Trade for a 2T fatty. Quinton Jefferson can prob be had for cheap on Cleveland. See what clowney would cost. It’s absurd they gave kinlaw all that money.

They play like they’ve been carrying the offense for so long now they’re tired of it. And they look like they’re half assing it

There is a former successful defensive coordinator with head coaching experience available...

Demote Ulbrich back to D/C and get a real head coach with experience in here.

Is our secondary banged up because no other bugger does any tackling (obviously Sauce not included as he couldn't tackle a sandwich)

    Nothing...absolutely nothing.

Reddick will come in, completely out of football shape, and either tear or break something. If he doesn't, he won't be "competitive" until 4 or 5 games from now.
