And letting Berti hit to end the inning and replace him with Rizzo in the field?

Has to be hurt. That may be why he didn't dive for that ball. Makes it an even weirder play.

His bat just looks slow the past month or so. I wonder what size bat he uses too. It looks like a giant club he should downsize.

That’s why I said the other night you don’t waste him in a 4 run game. Didn’t post it but thought about that being a long half inning to sit down after barely throwing any pitchers.

They must be seeing him tip the changeup.

This was the difficult game which is why losing yesterday sucked.

Gil may make it 4 innings then we role out a bunch of mid vs Cleveland's bullpen.

I rag on Boone at virtually every second but I do appreciate him not trying to go to the bullpen in the middle of the second like I thought he would.

What a moronic play by Austin Hedges of the Guardians to bunt on the first pitch. Gil has shotty command all night and walked him last AB. Gave him a gift.

Stanton has rewritten his entire Yankees career in 2.5 weeks.

His power is just insane. Crazy to pull an outside high fastball on a no doubter to left field like that.

This should be a lesson to all managers on overworking relievers though (especially power relievers). Cade Smith was throwing 95-97 the first couple games and versus the Tigers. He was throwing 93 tonight.

I think Boone is an idiot, but a lot of it has to do with watching his team all the time. Cleveland's manager is a fucking moron.

Still not seeing how the pen gets through this. Cousins should get another inning, but of course Boone will go to Mayza or Lieter.

Keep Jake out there for at least 3 batters if he doesn't allow a hit. Extend these guys who won't pitch except extreme circumstance.

    Get Jake out. Total spinner.

    Survive the mids
