Did they really call more motion or did they just have enough pre-snap time to actually send a man in motion though?
Great question. That was one of the first things I noticed with the plays coming in. Downing was basically done talking by 28-31 seconds and they were at the line ready to at about 16-20.
I must've missed that. I saw a team breaking the huddle late and getting snaps off within the last second, including yet another delay of game penalty
It was one of the first things I noticed about them getting to the line. The delay of game came after that crazy catch/throw to Lazard for 25 yards where the ball was placed perfectly. I wonder if they just got lost like holy how did he catch that? That play sequence where they took the delay of game was so strange after the first down by Lazard. Weird play to Allen, dumbass screen call to Ruckert. Ulbrich should have burned a TO instead of taking the delay of game. He also did that with the 12 man on the field penalty in the beginning of the game where we then got DPI by Reed. Ulbrich should have called the timeout. Those are the only 2 things that really irritated me about Ulbrich in his first game.
It’s slightly depressing that after all the signings (at QB and WR) all the money thrown at the line, and with a now-healthy Breece Hall back in the team, we’re only now starting to get closer to what we had with Mike White/MLF two years ago.
Yeah this is a Rodgers thing. I read something about how he likes taking the clock all the way down. I'm sure he has his reasons but I've got no idea why. Letting the clock get that low allows the DL to consistently get good jumps on the snap because they know exactly when it's going to be.
Ruckert gets completely manhandled when he's on the line blocking far more than he should, I don't understand the personnel usage by this team on offense. Like with Breece. I get it, he's popular in the locker room so you tell people he's the bell cow, but if he's going to mope around on the field and not even stretch for an extra yard, we have options now. If it was just Abanikanda and whoever else we had last year then that would be one thing. But no, we have a 235lb 20 -year-old rookie who can run through LBs and safeties, he can pass block and catch the ball and run in space, and he's a beast in the screen game. USE THAT. Design the gameplan around THAT. They aren't just leaving points on the field with this, they are leaving wins on the field.
