Awesome deal, he’s the receiver I’ve wanted bc he only makes like $1.8 mil this year and is still very productive.

Good move but this isn't the same Cooper from years ago. ESPN Analytics has Amari Cooper rated as the single-worst WR in the NFL this year and tied for the league lead in drops with Lazard.

Browns are such clowns. They guaranteed his contract this year to pay the money upfront and then ended up trading him lol

I like Cooper, but that's just silly.... So he can take a month or so to get on the same page as Rodgers?

They are clowns, indeed. I can’t believe they didn’t wait until the deadline with Adams moved. I always believed Cooper would be the most sought after receiver because his contract is $800k. He’s a great player, but even if teams wanted Adams, there’s only a small amount of teams who could afford that contract. Everyone can afford Coopers contract and there are plenty of teams in contention that need receiver help (Bills, Chiefs, Ravens, Cowboys, etc) and so I thought that the price to acquire Cooper would be driven up to higher than the usual price of a top rental (which is a 3rd). There’s still a month left to the deadline. They could have waited for a bidding war and driven up the price. Weird move from the browns imo.

My Dad is a Browns diehard, so he and I are custom to weekly conversations about the struggles and disfunction of our teams.

Last week he mentioned how poorly Cooper was playing, not just statistically, but his overall body language and focus was off. His theory was Cooper had basically "checked out." Because the Browns Oline are all hurt, they can't run the ball or pass protect. And least we forget how awful Watson has become because of it.

My guess, Browns see the writing on the wall, so lets ship Cooper out now before he gets hurt or his production gets even worse, decreasing his value.

This has been a weird theme and cloud around Cooper’s career. Nothing extremely publicly has ever come out about his personality around teammates or in the locker room, but he’s disappeared for stretches of time based on exactly what you describe throughout his entire career.

My best friend is a browns fan. All the browns players and fans look like that. The whole Deshaun situation has them all dejected. They are stuck in the mud for the next 3 years and no one sees the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s not just that they’re horrible, but there’s not even any hope. That contract is a black cloud hanging over the entire organization and fan base. They have no oline anymore, it deteriorated. Their star RB is gone. Deshaun is killing that team through his play and contract. They cant run or pass. They’re watching their failed QB be a star for another team, it’s bad. I don’t blame Amari or anyone for their play on that team this year. I don’t believe it’s because he’s washed or because he’s a prick, it’s depressing. Hopefully the move will help him love football again.
