Only the fucking Jets can make trading for a star WR annoying and maddening. I hate this franchise with every fiber of my being.
An uphill battle is at least possible. This team is not capable of making the playoffs. And now we are giving up assets that the next GM could use in the rebuild. This is just another case of a stupid franchise doing stupid things.
Why not. Let’s just continue to build a huge hole for the future. But I will say this, I am probably one of the few here that still have faith that we will still be in it to the end. Sure it’s a long shot but I’ll keep watching and supporting this team until they are out. Sure we re all frustrated. Maybe they ll be a better team to watch now. But I am sure we ll find something to bitch about. If not on the coaching or play calling, it will be on the OL, Breece hall not caring, AR looks old, Davis sucks at Safety, Mosely is overrated, woody sucks….
What gets me about this horrible move is everyone in the world knew that Adams wanted out of Vegas and could use this as leverage in terms of negotiations for draft capital and cap hit. Yet Joe Douglas and Woody take it up the pooper once again. This franchise is incorrigible.
They unfortunately lost a crap ton of leverage last night because they’re now a desperate team with a losing record facing a very bad matchup for them on Sunday. Not saying I wanted Adams but with every loss and Mike Williams type plays that happen, they gain leverage.
And like every other player the Jets have acquired, it's an aging star (who is also hurt, by the way) that is past his prime. This is like the most Jet thing the Jets could do. Trade draft compensation for an aging, past his prime player, with that trade also serving as a bandaid on a shark bite.
Between this and the Reddick trade, Joe Douglas looks like the most clueless poker player in the league when it comes to giving up too much draft capital.
So that means my #17 Wilson jersey will at least be worth it!!!! I can scratch off Wilson and add Adams.
this is as bad as giving up picks to get Rodgers when it was clear the Packers were desperate to move on - the only decent trade the Jets have made in living memory was the Jamal Adams one.
I don't think he cares. If you go to Ticketmaster and look at the available tickets for the upcoming Jets home games, the vast majority of them are fan resales. The Jets have already sold the tickets and got their money. Now they will also sell thousands of Adams' jerseys. It's a win for Woody either way.
This 100% This trade, like the Aaron Rodgers trade, is just more of the same never seeing the bigger and more rationalized picture nonsense. We just forever chase down the quick fix shortcut attempts that won't/don't work. Much less end up help us when 6 months from now, and after everybody who cheers this trade today just ends up blaming it on JD's stupidity when it comes time to bitch about it on draft day.
Joe Douglas may just be the worst GM in the game. I mean, what's next? Is he going to figure out a way to give the Chargers some draft picks for Mike Williams?
