The offense probably will suck still but we might see some personnel changes. For example, I bet we start seeing more Braelon Allen. There may be some changes on the line too, with guys like Fashanu and Vera-Tucker struggling.

Ulbrich is not going to come in and keep things the same, he would regret that for life

What I see here is there is too much worry about people's feelings. Fuck feelings, this is the NFL. Guys are paid millions of dollars; we have to worry about Nate Hackett's feelings about getting demoted? Or Rodgers feelings about Hackett getting demoted or fired? Absolutely ridiculous.

Love the Saleh comparison to a moping dick - that was spot on. But you do bring up a good point. What if we still win 10 games and lose in the 1st now with Brick? Does he run it back? It's basically the same problem as with Bob. You have a defensive coach with no offensive coaching talent. And how do you demote Brick back to DC if he makes pay-offs? 10 games means Brick goes 8-4. You don't fire/demote a guy with that record. That means offense will continue to stink for years to come. Brick gives possibly a possible short term boost of a game or two this year, but doesn't really change long term outlook of the team.

Yeah…regardless, this offseason will be critical with a lot of key decisions to be made. What do we do with AR? If he goes, then it’s easy to fire the entire offensive staff, most notably Hackett and Carter…if he stays, how long do we think he’ll continue to play and that impacts Hackett, though at some point you gotta go to AR and say Hackett has to go and AR can take it or not.

What do we do with Ulbrecht? After this, sure feels like it’s either hire him as HC or let him go…hard to see making his step back down to DC after a stint as interim HC.

What do we do with JD? His contract is up…sure is feeling like that won’t get extended unless there is a deep playoff run.

I guess we can speculate now, but really we need to see how the rest of this season plays out. If we suck and miss the playoffs, I’d say clean house top to bottom, even if that means AR leaves. If we make the playoffs, it will depend on how we show…one and done? Deep run? Those things will inform the offseason decisions that need to be made.

You run it back with Ulbrich and let him get 2025. Like you said, 8-4 record can't really can the guy

Well said. Unless there is a 180 degree turnaround, I expect Hackett and his entire merry band of idiots will be gone within a couple weeks.

Would be one of the saddest seasons ever because the talent or lack of it is not the problem.

The Jets are loaded with talent at just about every position.

I don't think it takes a rocket scientist or football genius to figure out how to make this work.

If he has a average football IQ he should be able to figure out how to get this offense going in the right direction.

We don't need perfection, all we need is progress.

Bills have a good defense so the offense only has to play well enough for us to get the win this week.

Just lose the vanilla offense while reducing penalties.

"Loaded with talent" is a real stretch. Tanny's late 2000 rosters were loaded with talent. This roster is not those.

It's definitely the most talented team since 2015.

Rodgers and the offense are just not playing as well as the well oiled Ryan Fitzpatrick TD machine :D

Cut the “loaded with talent” bs. Some of you sound like all the talking heads in the offseason/preseason who were spewing that same line of crap and bought it.

The Jets have solid talent (somewhere between 10 and 15 I would say) but none of their wr, rb, te or qb positions I would call “loaded with talent” based on their mostly underwhelming performances so far this season.

They need another young OL, another young high upside wr, a receiving TE and a young pass rushing DE. Those are just the obvious ones. I could address more but you get the point. Joe Douglas blew a lot of draft picks that could’ve helped in these areas (not to mention giving up valuable draft capital) and their roster is still quite thin in several key spots, especially on offense. It shows on the field.

Comparing this roster to past Jets rosters is setting a very low bar.

I was thinking before about whether the offense will improve?
I actually think it has to improve.
We have Todd Downing wanting to prove he's not Hackett.
We have AR, being of the football intelligencia - - he's smart enough to give the new guy a chance.
He also wants to prove he's not shot... it's a new season for him now, his slate is clean.
We have Breece & GW now given a chance to prove it was the coaching, not them, so they should be more focused, provided they really want to be stars.
    And some other stuff...
The slate is clean for everyone... it's a do-over... a new season.

So, Monday should be a good watch early, to see if the talent & desire are real.
During the Saleh years, his teams rarely responded well when they needed to.
    They need to now.

Couldn't agree more. I haven't read a more accurate take on where this franchise is at this point.

“ What if it still sucks??”

That’s a totally depressing thought .. but given the history not out of the question

All the new guys coaching know they will fired if no improvement like 2 poster’s already mentioned

    So talk about motivation!

It definitely is, but at least that team won 10 games. Something this franchise tends to be allergic to.

They're going to be fired most likely anyway unless they make a seriously deep run in the playoffs. Even under the best case scenario and Ulbrich does well enough to be retained, I'm sure he has an idea of who he would want running the offense for his team and I doubt it's the incompetent bunch that Saleh assembled.
