This all day long! I'm REALLY going to be paying attention to the bonehead pre-snap penalties. Let's hope a little accountability goes a LONG way!
Does it really matter? Rodgers just audibles at the line anyway Maybe they break the huddle a little quicker I suppose. Lets hope
Yeah everyone saying "but hack is Rodgers guy!" Haven't been watching the Jets this year. Rodgers has been getting more and more annoyed each week. Don't think he's standing up for anyone on this staff at this point
A lot of Downings EPA stats and metrics are just bad, not awful like Hacketts. So it should be an upgrade no doubt, but it will still be bad. If he is just average bad, I would like to think AR can bump him to around mid pack which is good enough to contend for the playoffs at least? Who knows.
Thanks for posting this. I think this is a good news, even though Downing sucks ass as well. Also, after watching OL play (posted in Olu thread) the problems are way deeper than play calling. Even when Hack called an occasional decent play, OL guys didn't know what they were supposed to do on many occasions. We got two OL double teaming a Backer and a RB or TE one on one with a DE. People took wrong player many times. It's as if we don't have a OL coach. Also hopefully now can we all agree AR didn't fire Saleh for demoting Hack
And how about 2022 Titans Look, he sucks, but it can't be any worse. Hack is back to his GB role with Rodgers, which to serve him coffee and hold his dick at the urinal.
Yeah 2022 is bad but no AJB and their WR1 was Bobby Woods. Tannenhill was also super banged up so it's tough to really grade that year IMO. I'm not defending Downing. I am not excited for him, but digging into it, it looks way better than that dumbfuck Hackett.
How is it that complete imbecile like Adam Gase could script great opening drives, but that's it, and this complete bozo, Hackett, couldn't even do that?
Dumb ass Gase is Lombardi compared to Hack. At least when Gase had a HOF QB, he looked decent. Hack is a new low previously unseen before.
I'm assuming you are referencing this graph? You want to be in the middle because it means you were equally successful scripted and unscripted.
I know nothing about this guy. But at least there is a new reason to believe. OC for the NYJ has to be the most cursed job in all of sports.
Btw, just to make it clear: Downing is not just calling plays. Brick said he is game planning now too. He also said he will be seen more in a room instead of Hack, something like that. Basically without official title change, Downing was promoted to an OC. Hack downgraded to an assistant now. Basically we have Brick as a HC, who is also planning and calling the D, playing a role of DC. Downing is OC, who is planning and calling the offense. Same set-up as during Rex years. I must say, this is probably as good as things can be shaken up given the current staff. Who knows, we might get an extra win or two and make play-offs here after all. Fingers crossed.
If you had to pick a single message board post that encapsulates what it means to be a long-suffering Jets fan, this one might be it
Hopefully, this is the end of the Hackett bloodline, I don't ever need to see a 3rd generation Hackett as a Jets OC.
