McDermott is an awful head coach. Bills fans calling for his firing. Saleh is a lot worse but McDermott is Marvin Lewis 2.0
Oh I don’t disagree at all but watching redzone you can see the Jets aren’t uniquely hapless. so I got that going for me. Which is nice.
The whole division sucks so it is nice. I doubt McDermott gets any better. He had all the players in the world and never delivered a serious playoff run. He also constantly gets out coached. Heck he's allowed Saleh to beat him multiple times with inferior talent.
It takes a truly amazing organization to follow up that hire with one that’s somehow been exponentially worse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Look whatever happens or not, this is what I wish would happen right now: Fire Saleh, Hackett, and Keith Carter. Move Ron Middleton to interim HC and promote Dowling to OC. We’ll still be working out of the same playbook, but we’ll have a fresh set of (hopefully) competent eyes making the calls and adjustments. This also sends a clear message to the team to tighten up their shit right now. No more stupid penalties, no more missed assignments, no more half ass play.
100% Truth. You watch every other NFL team, including Carolina, and then you watch these clowns to play football and it is totally different.
If nothing else, firing Douglas will keep him from hiring another guy as unprepared as Saleh. Do you really want to wait until after the Super Bowl to hire a GM who would then be on a short clock to the draft while trying to replace an entire coaching staff at the same time?
That's not a choice - Douglas is not buying an NFL team. Johnson has made no indication he wants to sell the team. Douglas is an employee who can be removed of his duties and should be.
Yeah, hiring the coach is the GM's job. The owner only puts his rubber stamp on it because he's paying the bills. Having said that, how is the Joe Douglas record on hiring coaches?
we are exactly the same as we were at this point last year - a 2-3 record and 93 points scored - the funny thing is last year we did it with Zach Wilson and this year we are doing it with the saviour Rodgers - same ol' Jets
At this point I would just have someone playing Madden '24 on the side line and hitting the "Ask Madden" button on offense and calling out the plays
because we've not had a franchise QB (mind we haven't had one for 50 years which explains the Jets in a nutshell)
