The defense is not the problem. The offense is the problem. Fire ̶A̶d̶a̶m̶ ̶G̶a̶s̶e̶ Nathaniel Hackett if you want to save the season. That is all.
This is what happens when you let one player dictate personnel decisions. Fire Hackett, if Rodgers doesn’t like it he can retire
If they want to save the season, Hackett has to go. If this season goes down the drain? They all go including JD.
It’s going to happen regardless and they know this, they are just collecting their millions as any rational person would do knowing they suck at their job as long as woody is paying it
If they fire Hackett and get somebody competent, who would they blame at the end of the season, anyway can you imagine this idiot regime pick or promoting some capable of running a quality NFL offense.
The current offensive system doesn't seem to have been installed all that effectively. Finding a WCO type mid-season to bring in a simply coherent play calling approach based on existing personnel would be a net positive in my book. Aaron Rodgers can't audible out of all of those bad plays that Saleh expects him to if he has no time to look at the defense. Hackett is like an inescapable puzzle box of idiocy.
The defense is not the problem, but the HC is ultimately responsible for both the offense and defense. Does anyone really think Saleh is holding Hackett accountable when he doesn't hold anyone accountable? Saleh is more concerned about being friends with everyone than winning games.
I haven't seen Saleh communicating one time with Hackett and Ulbrich on the sideline, he just stands there like a statue.
He's done that for four years now. In four years, I think I saw him talk to Ulbrich once. Must have been asking him if he had a stick of gum or something.
Can someone start one of those retarded internet things where we all sign our names to it? I’m normally against all that nonsense but I’d bet you get a million Jets fan signatures in 48 hours. Maybe that wakes Woody, Rodgers and Saleh up.
Not sure how firing Hackett will help in the long run, mostly because- who replaces him? Promoting from within is stupid because it’s not like anyone involved with the O is swimming in talent and untapped potential. Hiring someone from the outside seems crazy. Someone who doesn’t have a job at the moment, being brought in now, install a new offense, and deal with Rodgers’ demands and input?
That bold part is the only thing I see as a roadblock. We are dealing with historically bad play calling that has the whole offense not named Rodgers on the verge of mutiny. We don't deserve this so close after Gase's historically bad play calling. I can't think of any distasteful alternatives that are worse than Hackett.
You can’t implement a new offense, but can Dowling really not call a game? I’d fire Saleh, Hackett, and Carter right now. Middleton or Ulbrich as interim HC, Dowling promoted to interim OC. Intellectually speaking, you can’t get worse than Hackett on offense. Player accountability and discipline would also improve just by the fact we can’t possibly get worse than Saleh.
I feel like we do deserve this…so many years of supporting such an inept organization deserves to be punished! I agree that there aren’t many worse than Hackett, but doubt there is anyone better on staff and a lateral move won’t help much. The HC and guy who hired Hackett should be fired, on the other hand.
