Last night on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (actually a funny guy), Tony Gonzalez was on and Ferguson asked him who he was rooting for/thought would win, and he responded, "I hope they all lose." Kind of sums it up. Can't blame you guys for feeling that way.
The perfect ending to this season will be the Colts beating the Pats, then the Colts losing in the SB.. GO NFC!!
Unfortunately YES! I want VT and Ray Mickens to finally get a ring! I'd rather beat the PATS then watch the COLTS or BEARS do it! Our time is coming and I'd love to see two former JETS get a ring! If VT gets one, is a Hall of Fame candidate based on his stellar stats?
Vinny being with the Pats makes me root even harder for the dolts. I seriously think Vinny is becoming one of the most overrated players in Jet history.
F*** THAT, i could not hate the pats more, and in fact, (even tho im a bigger jets fan than yankees fan) the only team i hate more than the pats is the red sox, its not my fault that Vinny wants to stay in the game so damn bad he's willing to go to the enemy
The title game is a win-lose for me either way. Either I get to see: Manning's misery continue/Patriots 4th SB in 6 years. OR The Patriots season end in a tragic fashion/Manning gets his first SB. However, I would love nothing more than Vision's idea.
I agree, I hate the Pats and Belichick and Brady more than anything. And I'm hoping they lose somewhere along the line here. But if they win, it's hard not to feel good for guys like Vinny and Mickens who were true Jets. Look, Vinny would be on the jETS right now if they wanted him, but they didn't. And even though he only played a few seasons, there is no underrating what his 98 season meant to the team. Face it, the Jets have only had 12 playoff seasons in 47 years. The 1968 Jets are obviously the best team in NYJ history. But Vinny's 1998 Jets gave us the 2nd best season in history (Division Title after 29 years, 12 wins (most in history), and only our 3rd AFL/AFC title game appearance. Who can forget the miserable events of 1999, starting with the loss to Denver, the death of Vinny's dad a month later, the death of Hess, and then the awful site of Vinny's rolling around on the turf that September. Being a fan of the Jets means also being a fan of the players, and unfortunately, they don't always stay with the team. Even Joe Willie moved to Los Angeles when the Jets let him go. Unitas went to San Diego. Like all old QBs, Vinny is selling a piece of his soul to hangin. He's no worse than any of the others who hung on too long. The allure of the game is too much. Favre (who has been selfishly using the Packers like a Sunday morning beer league team) should've hung them up after that 6-pick debable in St Louis 5 years ago. I'm rooting for the Saints to win, but if the Pats win, I'll be happy for Vinny and Ray, and I'll hope that a 4th title will satiate the appetites of Brady and Belichick, and make it a little easier for us in 07.
Short answer - no. Long answer - not in a million years. He had two excellent seasons and a few more mediocre ones in his entire career. And standing on the sidleine watching Tom Brady win a SB hardly changes his HoF qualifications.
It makes me ashamed to even own my vinny/jets jersey, ANY other team, even the giants or dolphins or bills.... ANY other team bit the pats... it really sickens me... i thought so much more of vinny than that
