The Reddick trade was for a 3rd in 2026.

“In the March trade that sent Reddick to the Jets, New York gave up a 2026 third-round selection that could become a second-round pick if Reddick plays at least 67.5% of this season and has 10 or more sacks.” (Which obviously won’t be a 2nd)

Josina had some world salad bullshit last night that confused everyone with this trade. We also cannot trade our 2026 2nd because its tied to conditions of that trade. People are freaking out on the radio that its a 2026 2nd, not a 3rd.

Do we really think we’re not going to be dealing with Adams wanting out of here the moment Rodgers retires?

Does he have a no trade? Obviously a team doesn’t want to trade for him if he’s going to be a dickhead again but I can’t see him having a problem going to the Chiefs or Ravens.

He does not have a NTC but he is due 36 million in 25/26 and teams will have to restructure that money in order to take him on most likely. Unless they are okay just paying him $1 million / week for the rest of the year and letting him walk. You need to be under $15 million or so to take him on right now. But what does that compensation look like? No one is giving up a 3rd for a 12 game rental. The Raiders would also never trade him in division.

The Saints could trade for him I guess. They can restructure Kamara but that doesn't even get them enough. Adams would need to restructure + Kamara. Adams is going to pick where he goes when this is all said and done.

I think Sunday/Monday after London DA will be a Jet and being running out MNF @ Metlife vs Buffalo.

I'm just so skeptical of giving up more draft capital especially for a guy who will soon be 32. It will also be a crowded receiver room. Mike Williams has looked really good lately as has Lazard and we're sure not kicking Garrett to the curb. I mean, if they Raiders want Hasson Reddick maybe. But they'll want more than a Day 3 pick and we're short on Day 2s in the coming years

Honestly, the Saints are an absolutely perfect destination and they can use a third WR badly. No team manipulates the cap better than them so they'll make it work.

Still, I can see JD making this desperation move though and there would be some benefit so I wouldn't yell and scream unless the compensation was crazy

They need another guy who can win 1 on 1. Same problem as last year.

Good post, I was thinking about doing a similar breakdown.

Can also add things like trading up for AVT - a clearly suboptimal use of resources to try to make up for previous mistakes. Just the Becton mistake alone has compounded incredibly and had such far-reaching ripple effects.

Mike Williams has been winning his 1x1’s. Dude has caught everything thrown his way and has been a #1 just about his entire career. Make him the #1 and move GW to #3.

Lobbing the ball up to a basketball player with 0 YAC opportunity isn't really what I meant. Getting GW inside would be filthy.

I think we ultimately have to trade for Adams. Yes, we'll be sabotaging our future to a degree by doing so, but if you're going to go all in you have to go all in.

I'm agnostic on trading for Adams but in general when I watched the Jets play the 49ers, Titans and Broncos this year I didn't feel like I did back in Sam Darnold/Josh McCown days. Back then it was clear as crystal the Jets needed more and better players.

Right now I'm not sure the Jets (on offense this is) need more or better players. I really feel like they just need the guys they already have to be a little bit more on the same page and mesh better. And maybe at least to a degree that is an indictment on the coaching staff. I'm not sure to what degree though but its pretty clear to me we've got a lot of nice parts. The engine just isn't running smoothly.

Why would we send both 3s when the belief around the league it is one 3d? That seems to be reasonable. Yes, the guy is a stud. He is also turning 32 this year and is making a lot of money and most likely a rental. This is the age where a lot of WRs fell off a cliff. We have to see how we do in the next few weeks, and then a 3d at the most will get it done.

If its both 3s or no deal, give both 3s. 41 year old QB in an all in season. It doesn't matter.
