What could Wilson tell them? It's not like he ever saw a defense before.

Gardner has not had an interception in 2 years and only 2 his entire career. Very overrated player

After Revis, how can anyone possibly place him in the topic of being great? He’s not Deon, because he intercepted the ball and scored touchdowns. He’s not Revis because he hit people. Maybe Richard Sherman? Maybe not because he wasn’t afraid of contact…Idk, who would you compare him to?

On Sunday he wasn't even the best corner on the field.

Sauce Gardiner should do an ad campaign for Prego or Classico...hes fairly useless tbh except as ARs sidekick at Knick and Ranger games ..feh

He contributes greatly to this whole idea of softness. Qb’s who do test him seem to be more successful this year in contrast to previous years. The game against the Tttans he was allowed to get away with murder on their final possessions.
He seems to be a good person, he is a starter in this league, but definitely a liability in run defense and creating turnovers.

Wouldn't be hard. He could draw the plays up, in the dirt behind the visitor's bench! "Ok, on 1st and 2nd down it's Breece up the gut." Yeah, wouldn't take Zach long to relay the ENTIRE offensive playbook, reading from Buffalo Wild Wings menu isn't hard. :D

Interceptions are a tricky metric with regards to assessing CBs. The really good CBs don't get thrown at much because their coverage is so good. Not getting thrown at means less interception opportunities.

Look at Patrick Surtain's interceptions by year:

    2021: 4
    2022: 2
    2023: 1

Some CBs are athletic/good enough to intentionally make QBs think a WR is open to induce a pass before swooping in to intercept it, but that's extremely rare and comes with the risk of allowing big plays.

Understood but Surtain is very different CB than Gardner. He plays man and chases the no.1 receiver. IF they dont throw his way, that alone is a win.

Ahmad Gardner is mostly a zone corner. He doesn't play man exclusively on the opponent's main target. He needs to make plays. Richard Sherman should be his comp and Sherman made a lot of plays/interceptions

I wouldn't say the players' are soft, it's more the culture created from the very top of the organization.
The TEAM concept hasn't been grasped by these players.

Unlike many posters who post here on tGG, I don't see players not trying, or caring.
I see a general mish-mosh of players playing as individuals, going in all directions.
There's no leadership that's herding them together as a team.

NY and NJ is comprised of all classes. These guys need to go hang out in some of the roughest neighborhoods and change their mindset.

Pre-game They talked about life in Pittsburgh. How it breeds a particular mindset. Obviously the suburbs of NY/NJ breeds a particular mindset as well.
I admit, we have some tough players, but the identity, the culture, the mindset seems soft to me.

when have the Jets had a winning mentality in the last 50 years? they have always had that air of perennial losers hanging over them like the Browns - teams that just always seem to get it wrong - you just know its going to go wrong and so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and I am sure that the players feel this coming from the fans - I feel like if the Jets were a person they would be Rodney Dangerfield.

The Vikings, Bills, and Steelers were basically murderers row,

They will make a lot of good teams look bad.

The Broncos were the team that showed the world that we are as soft as tissue paper.

They aren't all that great but anyone watching the game they played against us would think they were world beaters.

Tissue paper soft. At least the Darnold Jets were lovable losers (talent-poor). This group is just losers.
This is just about the least likeable team I've seen the Jets field in my 43 years of watching.

When Garrett Wilson caused that awful INT why didn’t he tackle the guy?

Devante Adams was the one who busted his ass to tackle the guy, you’d think he’s the one that caused it. Nope, he’s just a real football player

The Jets are gas station bathroom toilet paper. Not soft, but pretty much incapable of properly finishing the job.

Those JD OL picks are looking worse and worse by the week. And AVT is showing to be a very unfortunate pick.
At least in his first few seasons he was good when healthy. He's been neither good nor healthy this year.
