OG is now the 8th highest paid player annually in the NBA. I respect going all in, but they will be as constructed for 2 years tops regarding their top 5 players. I'd like the Celtics to take a run at Hartenstein.
Where do you get 8th? I show 28th which is still too high for him but they’re loaded at the wing for Tatum/Brown and Giannis. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/contracts/_/sort/average/dir/desc
That's my bad, stupid AI and I didn't verify what it was telling me. Point still stands. I can't see them staying as constructed past 2 years.
Bronny James has become the new king of the nepo babies - from mediocre high school player to bad college player to drafted in the second round by his daddy's team. Good luck with that, JJ.
yeah that weird. They showed a clip of him being drafted and the whole family freaking out with joy at a party. As if it wasn’t something his dad did for him
Can't blame em for being happy. Getting to play professional basketball with your son is pretty awesome. You figure if anybody can right the ship with Bronny, it's him.
Worse than drafting him is the contract they gave him. Never has a franchise looked so beholden to a player. Players in the league are going to go out of their way to dog that kid and we will all be entertained by what will be the most emasculating moment in sports history as a player has their daddy come to their defense on the court. In 40 years the Lakers went from the Showtime Lakers to the Reality Show Lakers.
What's the current most emasculating moment? Rex Ryan filming his wife being foot-molested by young African American men has to be up there.
Yeah it's not a good look for a franchise I despise. Drafting him was fine, not a surprise at all, but then what proceeded was: - LeBron opting out and saying he will take less of the Lakers sign more players - they give Bronny more guaranteed money than any 55 pick I can remember. I will be fair and say the guy 2 years ago got about 4 mil guaranteed, but Bronny is a non existent prospect outside of his name. - within 48 hours of opting out and saying he'd take less money, he signs a max 2 year deal with a player option. Lakers are in NBA purgatory. They aren't going to suck, they are going to be average.
Wasn't the point of Brunson taking less money so they could keep them all together? I'm also confused why Minnesota didn't keep their core together. They took a huge step forward by making the WCF and beating the Nuggets.
Yeah, team chemistry was the key to last years success. I was hoping they'd add a complimentary piece to add on that, not trade away their best 3 point shooter who's also buddies with their best player....
I follow both both teams closely and this trade surprised me big time. It's the Wolves ownership looking to save $$. Plus ARod is in the mix. That ownership is gonna fail that team. Too bad. They should've run that back I thought too. But think the trade can work for them if Randle's shoulder is 100% The Knicks I remind you guys picked up Mikal Bridges and retained OG. DiVincenzo and Hart are basically the same player, and Robinson is out for significant time yet again. DiVincenzo had a great year and is a nice player but Bridges is better imo. I'm starting to think the Knicks did okay here. I think the roster is actually more rounded and versatile top to bottom now. Draftkings had NY third choice in the league at +800, before the trade I think. Am interested to see if that number changes
Still +800, third choice to win the NBA Finals. Not sure if the trade had any effect on the line. Celtics are +310, OKC +700 Knicks are second to win the East at +400 behind the Celts
