Jets should win this game. NE has looked better than most expected, but they aren't a good team. Stop Stevenson and make Jacoby beat you. Simple. Breece and Braelon baby. Run the rock. Play action pass. 23-13 Jets
This is where I get irritated with jet fans in general. We spend way too much time dissecting every draft selection JD made as the cause of our failures, while in point of fact what we have is now a pretty good roster absolutely piss poorly managed by Saleh. Completing freaking unprepared, winded, inexcusable penalties and the defensive play calling has been dreadful for two weeks against the run. Teams with half this talent and good coaching will be kicking ass. I find it unforgivable that we are unable to adjust formations to slow down the run. We should beat the crap out of the Pats, but coaching is our Achilles heal.
I got mixed feeling about this game. On one hand I think we should be able to beat NE handily. I saw their game yesterday and they don't look very good. Especially their o-line. People worried about their running game might be surprised by how few holes they make. We need to cover their TEs though - they work them. On the other hand I don't have any confidence in our CS having us ready for a Thursday night game. I hate that its NE, because I dont want another beat down to them on national TV. ON the bright side its our home opener so maybe that fires us up enough to not be flat. Go Jets!
Joe D is no saint and I don't want him to continue with us if this season is utter failure but you have a point. Robert Saleh and his coaching staff is our main problem before Joe D.
Yeah I think toe to toe we have one of the worst coaching staffs in the NFL. The delay of game crap yesterday was abhorrent and the fact that they didn’t come out in the second half and fix it makes it even worse.
It was a quick moment, but there was a play that 2 jet defenders were playing way past the whistle and you could feel they were a micro second away from another personal foul. The camera showed Saleh who recognized this. He laughed and smiled at the players involved.
Have you ever gotten an explanation from the Jets, other than something like "we thought we did good" or "we need to do better"?
This was a constant problem when Hackett was the head coach in Denver. So much so, Denver fans would start counting down in unison once it got under 10.
He may have the final say but I don't think there's anyone here who believes Johnson has the knowledge or insight to make those decisions and must rely on whatever "football people" exist within the organization. Douglas is at the top of that pile. Whatever that pile is made up of is another topic of discussion.
If theres one quality I can't respect its making the same mistakes over and over again--Its one thing to be bad at something and then another to not even learn to be better. I recall Sean Payton having a few choice words for this knucklehead.
Yeah, we need to beat the Patriots by at least 3 scores and have over 40 points. I want them to remove their own heart in agony.
I'm feeling a loss by field goal at the end on this one. I'll go with that and hope a football team shows up.
