I don't know that I see any brutality in that video. Those cops gave him a lot of chances and he kept acting like an ass, never cut the engine and wasn't wearing a seat belt, and twice said "do what you have to do" after rolling the window up on them. Looks like they did what they had to do. Of course the cops will be demonized because that's the cool thing to do now.

Tyreek Hill is a total ass.

Tyreek was on the phone with his agent the whole time lol. I know these agents make a lot of money but damn would it be stressful to be Tyreek Hill's agent. "ok what is it this time? arrested again...?"

and yeah, idk, if anyone has beef its Calais Campbell at the end there, they were overzealous with him.

With Hill they had to consider he might flee and took action to ensure that didn't happen

The cops and Tyreke Hill are both in the wrong.

Tyreke trying to spin the narrative on Sunday that nothing happened and he didn't know why things escalated was clearly a lie. A lot of people defended him based on his inaccurate statements.

What do you see as a reason to physically force him out of the car and handcuff him? At no time did he do anything that represented a physical threat to anyone.

Yeah, as more information comes out Hill is looking worse and worse. No need to lie at the podium, and calling for them to get fired is sort of a trash move in this case. Almost like if he yells enough people will believe him over the footage.

He closed his tinted windows after being directed not to. At that point he is a potential threat because they can't visibly see if he has a weapon after not cooperating.

At no time did Hill close his window after being directed not to.

The cop with the black sleeves escalated the encounter; the cop with the white sleeves who initiated the stop was in control and the cop whose camera was shown (long uniform sleeves) was right there to provide any assistance needed. The cop with the black sleeves also is the one who pulled Hill out of the car without giving him a chance to do it himself and was the one who brought him to the ground at that time and later by the curb. The same cop appears to be the one further escalating the situation with the other player when the cop with the long uniform sleeves was giving him instructions to move his car.

I would suspect that the cop whose duty status was changed as a result of examining the video was the one with the black sleeves who seemed out of control.

Tyreek acted like an asshole, the cop was a bit excessive. But , doing a job where some people are shooting cops at traffic stops, I also understand the need for compliance, and someone like tyreek should set a better example. Someone out there who hates cops will mimic that for tyreek the hero and end up getting killed. The rift gets wider. And we all lose.

    well said byz.

Cops in this country take a lot of heat and some of them are warranted but this is not one of those incidents. Entitled bitch Tyreek saw what us civilians face. That said, these cops are also acting like assholes. Yes Tyreek provokes them but they could have handled it better.

You are correct actually. He did close his window with no direction prior. He was given direction to reopen the window twice but that at the same time the cop decided to open the door.

There was enough time for him to open the window after the cop directed him to and he did not. The second time he did and you can hear him say "you don't tell me" and that's when the officer opened the door.

I think both sides escalated and both acted in the wrong.

Tyreek Hill came off as a rude, entitled prick (no surprise there...). But the cops also escalated the situation unnecessarily. Seems like they went on a power trip for his non-compliance rather than handling the situation in a more level-headed and effective way.

After watching the body cam footage, they really didn't need to yank him out of the car and force him to the ground. I get that cops don't like it when celebrities act like they are above the law and talk back to them. He even agreed to roll the window down and the officer was like, "Nah, too late, you're being detained." Pretty silly.

They also claimed he was doing 100 when it's obvious based on the video he wasn't anywhere close to that. At first I was thinking it was completely Hill's fault, but after seeing the videos, it was complete overkill to do that.

Yeah, Tyreek is an entitled asshole and acted like a child, but the escalation wasn't needed.

The fact that he was just driving at a high rate of speed, sitting in a vehicle that was still running with no seat belt means that a) he was breaking the law right in front of them and b) that law is there for his own safety. If you want to get technical, they were actually protecting him from himself. In case, you know, he decided to drive off while they waited for the fucking negotiator to show up.

they just briefly cuffed him. its not like he was beaten or hurt in anyway. Hell he scored an 80 yard touchdown in an NFL game and mocked them mere hours later.

He's fine and some of the outrage is over the top

I think a lot of the outrage had to do with Hills postgame conference as well as the other teammate that was there. Both essentially pushed the story that nothing happened and they didn't know how it escalated at all when they clearly did, and were clearly pushing their narrative.

If Hill had just come out originally and acknowledged he did escalate then I don't think people would have reacted the way they did initially. A lot of it has calmed down since the bodycam footage came out.

I think that nerd coach of the dolphins had a lot to do with the outrage.

Blubbering on about how he doesn’t know what it’s like, insinuating it was a race thing…

Im definitely speculating here, but McDaniel is probably more sensitive to the subject. His father(deceased) was black.
