Ok let’s all say this slowly and enunciate every section properly… Ah…bah…knee…kanda! Say it three times. OK. Now your ready for season!
I've had enough of Smart personally--I don't know if he makes it this time. Like the idea of Martinez but I also want to bring in another QB--I like the idea of multiple PS QB's and rotate them out if they are not developing and then add a new one. Why Kuntz? I personally didn't see anything from him in the about 7 quarters of PreSeas I watched.
We probably got the same deal we got from Denver for ZW--we ship him off with a 7th and we get back a 6th. There's other possibilities like conditional 7th but early reports said pick swap.
I don't think Takk looked that good on first series of Giants game--not sure if he flashed against 3rd stringers or 2nd. I assume he's starting and expect to see McCaffery run his way. Double so if LT Williams is out--they'll run to the right--IMO I like the youth of our DLine + comeback Takk. Reddick would be real nice for a year tho.
Smart is entrenched in their system. I think that's a big factor with this staff, trust. They signed Kuntz for the potential of his impressive physical traits as a developmental player. If he improved in their program in the past year, they might keep him. I saw a lot of Martinez in the UFL games and he has tools. Not sure of the mental part. They might prefer Peasley though. What they do will tells us.
I don't see any rhyme or reason to keep Peasley--there are a lot better guys on the waiver wire tonight. Ya--Kuntz is a + athlete but did you see that play where Martinez threw a beauty to him while covered and he not only didn't make a good attempt on it, he was totally baffled and looked like he will never be able to make that catch. We'll see with Smart--sure, it'll be hard saying goodbye but he's had his chances IMO--if we had unlimited PS spots, sure.
Can’t see Tanzel returning with that log jam of DL in front of him. If he gets a PS offer for another team thinner at DL, he should take it.
Regarding Kuntz, remember Jeff Cumbersome(Cumberland)? They kept him around for the same reason. He may be a PS candidate still. He just doesn't impress in games. I guess we'll see.
This is probably his last go-round. He plays STs well, works hard, and has a good character. They like him. I'm not sure there's a better TE out there on the waiver wire, but there may be.
