I guess I picked the right year to tell them to fuck off.

 

So what's the best service to go with now? Luckily I'll be off on Sundays usually, but I'll miss Thursday and Monday games, and would like to record them.

I thought nfl+ was 15 bucks a month, and had replays right after each game was over.

YouTubeTV would have them for 75 a month, but that's not worth it just for football only.

I did exactly the same ... ridicious. If the NFL wants to get revenue, they can stream games live and charge per team... meaning its restrictive only for that particular team. I don't need to see everyone else... and like you i can watch it on UT the next day.

 

I feel for the fans living outside New York metro area. This year I cut the cord and got a TV antenna. I will be able to watch the games on Amazon Prime, Peacock, CBS, Fox and NBC. I refused to continue my subscription with ESPN+ after they forced me to buy the Disney+ bundle that includes Disney+ , Hulu and ESPN+. So I will miss Monday night games and I will go to local bar to watch the games. Oh. My boys are in college and they are not into NFL as much. I can buy Sunday Ticket for $100 a year but I refuse to pay anything to NFL the greedy machine.

this whole streaming thing is so out of control…its like the cable rush of a few decades ago…everyone making their own streaming and as a viewer if you want everything you’re subscribing to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Peacock, HBO Max, Paramount/CBS, and on and on

I haven’t lived in NY since the 1980s and I was the happiest guy when Sunday Ticket was created on DirecTV…I finally got to see my Jets every week. It’s funny because when I moved to LA I couldn’t understand why they didn’t show the Rams and Raiders home games ever…they would usually pipe in the Broncos or the Cardinals or some shit like that. It never occurred to me because in NY, we got to see both the Jets and Giants every week, home or away, because they always sold out.

Flash forward, I was happy with Sunday Ticket until AT&T bought them and their service went to absolute shit.

Still, I kept buying it because I didn’t want to get stuck watching the Cowboys and Broncos every week here.

But my son is also telling me to drop Sunday Ticket and just do NFL+ for the $15/month…you get the full game and the All 22 view also, but you don’t get it live. I thought you get it same day once the live game is over.

Since NFL Sundays start at 10am here in LA, it’s not that huge a problem to just wake up late go get breakfast and watch the game on NFL + at 1pm instead…

Thinking that’s what I’m going to do…I also don’t like the YouTube TV interfaces either, so there’s that

 

I renewed for $249. So, it's $249 plus the monthly YouTube TV fee which I believe is $72.99. I don't think I got any special deals or anything other than it said $249 (normally $349) if I renewed before a certain date.

 

The research I've done shows that games are available within minutes after completion. I hope that's true, and the other post about the next day was a wrong statement. That's exactly what I'll do as well, since I work till 10pm, and don't have tvs or radio around.

This thread made me check on my YouTubeTV account to see what the price for Sunday Ticket would be this season.

I didn't realize that Sunday Ticket automatically renews... and they've already billed me for the first installment and I can't cancel the season...

Looks like I'm stuck with it this year.

72.99 a month feels high too. My wife has a few accounts, Netflix and Disney, both of which I think are owned by someone else, and we have a prime membership.

 

Fucking hell.

What's a good deal now a days?

 

Going out to dinner as a family? Nope.
Taking the fam to the movies? Nope.
Buying your fucking groceries? Nope.

Is Peacock going to broadcast some of the games rather than NBC? I have Peacock, but was thinking about dumping it.

 

Since most of the Jets games in the first half of the season are these bullshit standalone games, I'm not even thinking about Sunday Ticket until midway through the season when they inevitably offer it at a discounted price for the rest of the year.

I'll just got to the bar for the Titans and Broncos games and just watch whatever games I can figure out a way to get, if I even bother with that at all, on the other Sundays.

The combination of the NFL getting as greedy as they are and the Jets completely sucking has me very much considering stopping my NFL viewership here in the next couple of years and finding something more productive to do with my time, like watching paint dry or the grass grow.

 

What a racket. That ought to be illegal.
