I know they're different sports, but I'm wondering if LeBron running up and down the floor like a 29-year-old in the Olympics may be an additional inspiration to AR. Rodgers may well be thinking something like, "Hell, if Lebron can play basketball like that at 39, I can play quarterback at a high level at 40." This proof of the ability to maintain exceptional skills at an advanced age may be in addition to Tom Brady's playing high level quarterback at age 45. And, of course, all reports from camp have been that Rodgers has shown in camp that he can throw a great ball and do everything else a quarterback needs to do with advanced skills. I have no doubt that, barring injury, AR and the Jets are going to have a landmark year
LeBron was a turnover machine today. I am just bitter cause he cost me a nice payday on a parlay by 1 point!
I bet my sweet hairy ass that Rodgers will dominate the league if he doesn't get injured again. That's all I will say.
They should waive the 5 year waiting period for the Hall of Fame if he leads a Saleh/Hackett coached team anywhere near a playoff berth.
Everyone ages differently due to different things. Rodgers is coming off a serious injury also because of that there will be rust in his game. I don't know how realistic it is to expect him to put the team on his shoulders at least in the early part of the season. The smart play for the Jets would be to let the team around him help him. Allow Hall and the other backs to do their thing I loved watching Hall carry the load in the snow in the season finale last season. Play defense. Rodgers doesn't have to do it all. I know the game has changed these coaches at times do stupid **** that defies logic so I'm not expecting it to play out that way.
The better NBA comparison would be Kobe Bryant. He tore his achilles and was able to return to form late in his career. That allows Rodgers to know it’s possible. Should be physically easier for a QB than a basketball player too.
LOL yeah. Thinking the more we let him drop back to pass the faster he'll shake off the rust? I hope not they really should ease him in the early going. This team is good enough Rodgers doesn't have to do it all with his arm he has plenty of help.
With AR, I am just wondering how many times in 2024 will this team have that famous Robert Saleh look and not show up to play. You know the look, no preparation, no practice, not giving a fck like when they got shut out in Denver a few years back, or banged around by Jax, or both of last year's Miami games, the ATL game etc. Not trying to be a dck or spoil anyone's season, but I have zero confidence in this CS to get out of its own way, let alone be a contender. Hoping AR takes over the controls and can overcome the hideous coaching. As jet_fan so perfectly stated, they should waive the 5 year HOF waiting period for AR if he manages to guide this team into the playoffs because if he does, it will be despite this CS and GM.
I like coach Saleh. If he were going to lose this team it would've happened last season it didn't happen. The league is so reliant on passing the ball now that teams that can't do it well enough can't really compete at the highest levels. Missing on Zach Wilson is a front office miss. What happened to Rodgers last season bad luck but even with Rodgers this team was going nowhere with the offensive line they had in 2023. Again that's on the front office. This season on paper this team looks to be built to be capable of doing EVERYTHING well. They should be able to pass it more than well enough, they should be able to run the ball, o-line looks good, they should be able to play defense. We're going to see what we'll see in 2024.
Jesus, you folks have GOT to stop doing that! I always read these with a drink in my hand and end up having to clean the screen after I belly laugh! Let's hope it doesn't come down to you hair ass! LOL!!!!
