yeah that sucks. There's a BIG divergence between the EURO and GFS rt now.... EURO has the classic cruise up the coast scenario, GFS has a doomsday wobble around in place on. Hopefully the former is correct, but seems that NHC is splitting the difference (as usual)
I'm sure they did, but like where I live, all the development just has water collecting in places it didnt used to....
Ground level mostly. It’s all subdivisions with homes and condos. Relentless building for a stretch of 50 miles along the coast. This is a newer neighborhood I’m working in this am. Mostly looks like this, most even tighter together.
Tornado hits downtown Buffalo. Brian on X: "Wow!!! Unwarned Multivortex tornado tears through downtown Buffalo #nywx https://t.co/4pvxYLzLBw" / X
We got between 11 and 15 inches depending upon which report you look at, I'm in Manatee county about 6 miles from the bay and 10 miles from the gulf. Of course we didn't get any stall otherwise the flooding which was pretty bad in some areas could have been catastrophic. Hopefully the storm doesn't sit in one area too long
Glad it wasn’t too bad for you guys. Hopefully it ends up moving faster , but I have a feeling it’s gonna be a real pia. Tropical bands are always interesting. I heard it start raining about 2 hours ago. Nothing heavier than a typical thunderstorm. Had to run out for yearly lab work, and water is already ponding quickly. Now the fun of moving the next 3 days jobs. There’s always the “it’s just a little rain, I don’t understand why you can’t come” guy.
Got to do a bit more driving around yesterday and saw some of the more heavily flooded areas. Had some huge areas completely closed to traffic, Little Manatee River was over 19ft, and 17ft is considered major flooding. Stay safe.
We had plenty of flooding , haven’t really heard the full extent yet.:. But we were also somewhat spared because dry air filtered into the storm and the rain wasn’t constant. It came in heavy bands. We ended up with around 16 inches over 4 days here. Inland got it a little worse, now the rivers are overflowing
Not all that bad really. Had a few tornado warnings and the folks living near streams were nervous. Where I live, York Co., is pretty hilly and I'm about 820 ft. in altitude so for us, just heavy rain and wind.
We’re getting another rare 3 days of low humidity. This never happens in sc in July or August. It feels like an early September Long Island evening.
