It is so stupid and weird. Like me! I love Tubi. Like I always say, it can be a trial sometimes, but they have some real gems on there if you're dedicated enough to find them. Their library is becoming massive. Some of the categories are awesome.
'Fun'. I rented this from Blockbuster back in the day. I couldn't find a trailer, although the full movie is out there if you try hard enough. It's a low budget indie with a John Cassavetes vibe (the influence is obvious). Two bored psycho teenged girls meet by happenstance on the street. They decide to murder an elderly woman for fun, and mess with their psychiatrists after they're apprehended. "Hillary!" "Bonnie!" Highly disturbing film. EDIT: Haha, I found a trailer after all, I can't believe it.
There’s so many good horror and noir movies on there, especially the Italian and Giallo stuff I obsessed about as a kid. I got a nasty flu a while back and passed out watching Anaconda. Every couple hours I would wake up for a few minutes and a different giant snake movie was auto playing. Tubi never disappoints.
Deadpool and Wolverine is a mixed bag. Some really funny jokes, some really bad jokes that fall flat, some cool scenes, some terrible scenes, some good writing, some bad writing, etc. Hugh Jackman is great as Wolverine though. Loved each of his scenes. Far too much foul language too. Doing it just to do it doesn’t work for me. I’d give it an overall C.
Less than zero interest unless someone puts a gun to my head. Speaking of Hugh Jackman, I saw this flick called 'Prisoners'. It's also with Jake Gyllenhaal, the actor everyone loves to hate. I really like Jake Gyllenhaal, so shoot me. Anyway, 'Prisoners' was kind of all over the place and and had greater potential, but the torture of Paul Dano was horrific and really uncomfortable. I get the reasoning, but ooof. He finally gives it up. Kids gets abducted, everyone's worst nightmare, it devolves from there. Very underrated movie at the end of the day. Edit: Spoiler I've canceled the ending, but it's pretty good.
Saw it today. Looked like a reboot of the part of MCU that Disney and FOX hasn't killed yet. Some of the cameos were surprising and kept my interest. The overall story was both good and bad depending on the scene. Wait for Netflix..
Yeah, Prisoners was great. I need to re-watch it. Yeah, that is a good way to say it. I agree. Happy Hugh Jackman came back. That might be the last we see him as Wolverine, but you never know, especially with Marvel and this multiverse.
He's cashing in on Disney desperation. He had a trailer camp and private jets written into his contract. The Marvel Multiverse is now a corporate executive tool to explain away the most moronic production choices. Audience: Wait a second, Dr Doom is Iron Man?? The fuck? Disney: HE'S A VARIANT!! LMAO!!! Don't worry, he'll be replaced by Girl Power Dr Doom before you know it!
Sadly, you're 100% spot on. Makes you wonder about all the other Marvel project wreckage spread out over the landscape. Dr. Strange, Hulk, Avengers, Xmen to name a few.
I’m happy with it. RDJ was the MCU. It’s been average at best without him. Iron Man had a perfect ending. Bringing him back as Doctor Doom is a cool idea. I’m sure a variant of Iron Man will show up too in Secret Wars, so RDJ will be busy. I agree with @abyzmul that it’s desperate, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. It got me interested again and I am sure many others too.
By the time this comes out will there be an audience for another Avengers movie? I’m not convinced there will be. Sure, hard core Marvel fans will flock back, but I don’t think the average movie goer is simply waiting for another Marvel or Avengers movie any longer. The interest in Deadpool was about the popularity of the characters and interest in an R rated comedy not Marvel in general.
Saw ALIEN yesterday. Very good reboot. It was a combo of A1 and the action parts of A2 with a subtle set up for a new second ALIEN. Good CGI, decent plot and character development.
I’ve said it on here a couple of times but they overplayed their hand badly with all of the supplemental TV shows mini-series while over-saturating the market with movies. I was a bigger Star Wars guy than Marvel and they’ve now done the same thing with Star Wars. I followed up until End Game PT II and it just became tiring trying to keep up with it all.
