Rich Cimini @RichCimini · Follow DT Javon Kinlaw says he added 25 pounds of muscle in the offseason, going from 305 to current 330. It was by design to help him be sturdy against double teams. He is a massive human being. #Jets Javon Kinlaw Says Massive Muscle Gain has him at 330 lbs ByGlenn Naughton When the Jets added defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw this offseason, the expectation from most was that they’d be getting a strong interior rusher with some room to develop into a more complete player. It seems that in just a few months, Kinlaw has literally grown into a different player. While meeting with the press after practice today, Kinlaw, who was previously listed at 319 pounds, claims to have added 25 pounds of muscle to get himself up to his current weight of 330 pounds. Having a 330 pound lineman with Kinlaw’s explosiveness next to Quinne Williams could pose quite a challenge for opposing offensive linemen. One area where the Jets needed to improve their defense this offseason was along the defensive interior. After losing Quinton Jefferson and Al Woods to free agency, something had to be done. The response from the Jets was to sign Kinlaw and defensive tackle Leki Fotu. Through the first week of camp, Fotu has earned rave reviews as he looks to be the next defensive player to go from castoff to standout under Robert Saleh and Jeff Ulbrich. Should the pair exceed or even life up to expectations, it would be huge win for the Jets defense.

Robby Sabo @RobbySabo New York #Jets positionals ongoing: —QB were with the RB, but they’re now separate. —WR have been isolated the entire period, working on the run game. —The OL is of course doing their usually uptempo thing. And they’re now coming together for broader positionals (QB, RB, WR together against air). 10:52 AM · Jul 29, 2024
In the holy crap dept.: I'll never get over the Great Gazoo safety helmets out there. Better get used to them. Players are allowed to wear them in games now. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40031598/nfl-allow-guardian-caps-helmets-regular-season *** The next thing we know, every player will wear these and they'll have advertisements on them

He’s confident he’ll figure it out. #Jets 12:18 PM · Jul 29, 2024 Harrison Glaser @NYJetsTFMedia Robert Saleh on Joe Tippmann's high snaps today: #Jets "He's gotta work on it. There's clearly something going on, but he'll get it down. He snapped for us last year, he'll be fine. I know he'll work at it, get it settled down. He'll figure out what that timing looks like, feels like. Some of the things we're asking him to do in the pass & run game is trying to maximize his athleticism, so it's just a matter of him working the timing & the rhythm of the snap." Rich Cimini @RichCimini A poignant moment at the podium: Kinlaw gets choked up describing his journey: “I’ve been through a lot.” Fighting back tears. Kinlaw had a tough upbringing; he was homeless as a child in Washington D.C. Quite a story. #Jets 12:33 PM · Jul 29, 2024

I really hope that's not true about the guardian caps. I mean damn...does everything have to be lame?
