Hall and Oates a male duo in the 70's looks remarkably like Blair and Jo from The Facts of Life. A sit com about girls at a prestigious boarding school. The lesbian scenes in Facts of Life were pretty good, you can check them out on Youtube.
I saw an interview with Daryl Hall about 10 years ago, and he's still kicking. When I was in HS there was running a joke that John Oates was gay af, mostly because of of his mustache, chest hair, and because he was short (?). The 'Cruising' flick? Dunno, haha. It really is a wild success story outside of some shitty singles that we all wish we could scrub from our brain boxes. 'Sara, Smile' is a great song, and I'm not the least bit embarrassed to say that. The cover of their album simply called 'Daryl Hall & John Oates' was so incendiary at the time because they're wearing make up (clutches pearls)! Anyway, very funny OP if you get the Americana/reference.
