I actually think there’s some lost in translation going in here. I don’t think he understood what he’s being asked. I think he was talking about himself as a teammate in the initial interview and it got heard wrongly. Don’t think he expressed himself how he wanted. https://x.com/snytv/status/1795983566083404071?s=61
Yeah I think he’s getting a bad rap in this scenario, and this just has been a misunderstanding because English isn’t his first language. It’s admirable when players do their interview in English even though English isn’t their 1st language, but the team should have the interpreter there anyway. Just as an aid.
I saw a game there a few years ago - it's a nice ballpark, although pretty much all of the views of Washington landmarks have been blocked by construction of other buildings.
I agree, you can hear him say teammate if you listen closely the guy was frustrated with how he was playing, it was raw emotion in a locker room. people should get off his back. I would much rather have that than the players who clearly dont give a shit
Yay, Mets lose their sixth game since May 1 that they led after 7! No other team has lost more than two.
I liked the stadium a lot. It's less than a 10-minute walk from my son's place.....and they won, so, that was a bonus. Off to London to play the Phils.
Mets attendance through May 31 is down more than 25% from last year, more than any team other than the A's, and 11th from the bottom overall. Stevie can't be too happy about that. But hey, the White Sox are on pace to go 39-123 this season, which would shatter the dubious record (modern record) for most losses in a season held by the 1962 team!
JD Martinez with a walkoff home run, very surprisingly the first of his major league career (he has 321 career home runs). The Mets are good at walkoffs (their six leads the majors), I guess. Diaz gets the win with a scoreless top of the ninth. They've won 8 of their last 12 - could this actually not be a totally lost season?
Diaz comes back from his win yesterday to get a save today, his first save in 39 days. Martinez with another two RBI in the 2-1 win. Mets 9-4 since their team meeting.
The bats are alive, hopefully, the pitching can be good enough to sneak into playoffs via WC. I pretty much left them for dead......long season.
We’re back to.500 at 39-39. We’re 15 of our last 19 games and 1.5 games behind San Diego for the third NL wild card.
What a crazy ride this season has been! Started off playing poorly, had a run, had a really bad stretch, now this very hot stretch. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. The hot hitting can't stay this hot, but one thing is certain: Vientos has a future, and this team soon will be all about Francisco Alvarez. Let's hope that when other bats cool, Big Pete starts a HR binge.
