Yeah…Aaron is getting older…we will need to be in the first round QB game if not next year then the year after…I’d prefer next year to let the rookie sit behind AR instead of throwing yet another rookie QB into the fire just to watch him burn up

What even is this discussion? Travis is a big ole dart throw hoping we find a diamond in the rough or a good backup QB.

Zach Wilson is an extremely flawed and failed #2 overall pick that started 33 games here across three years and didn’t succeed.

I wish I had the last 4 minutes of my life back. Why is Zach Wilson even a thing on this forum anymore?

I wasn't saying that YOU SAID he was an upgrade, I was merely asking the question- really pointed towards Douglas - how is this any better than Zach. IOW: If they think they can make something out of Travis, why couldn't they have done so with Zach? IDK, since I don't know Zach or didn't witness his interactions with the team I can't say what his intangibles were - at this point I'll accept the fact that they weren't NFL quality, so maybe that will be the difference. But can you say the same thing held back Sam and Geno, and all the other failures? Were they just not mentally/emotionally tough enough? If that's so, I hope this kid Travis is because he's not going to get much, if any, help from the Jets CS.

GD I wish this kid were 5 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier. If you combined Drew Breez and Chad Pennington, you'd give birth to Jordan Travis.

Now, both those cats were good (great at times) QBs, BUT, it just seems the modern NFL almost demands taller, bigger QBs with howitzers to take over games/teams/seasons/decades.

There may be room for a smaller stature QB with an accurate arm (more than powerful arm), but it always seems they're on the edge. But I guess at the end of the day, what's between the ears ends up being the most important attribute, so I'll withhold judgement.

We should never draft a QB ever again because the Jets have demonstrated repeatedly they can't develop one properly.

Kind of like saying we can't draft a game breaking TE because our coaching staff won't know how to use him.

We should only draft backup offensive linemen.

I see it more as the Jets shouldn't invest any *significant value* draft pick into QB until then. Or at least until there is, at bare minimum, an offensive coaching system in place that actually has logged a successful season here as opposed to the the never ending projection of success that never pans out. I mean that too. We could have the #1 pick this year and I would 100% be screaming to trade out. Just like the pats are going to learn this year you can't be a death sentence destination for these young QB and expect non-death sentence type results. Maye's chances to see any early career success are being F'd over before he even sees an NFL game imo.

This wasn't a significant value investment value we made on Travis, so I'm good with it..
