1997 Jets defeat Bears 23-16 at Soldier Field. Glen Foley gets hurt and Neil O'Donnel replaces him. Otis Smith goes wild with a pick...great game.
1976, Tampa at Shea: my first game, Namath started. 1981, Baltimore at Shea: 25-0 win, 8 sacks for NYSE, McNeil's first 100 yard game 1985, New England at Meadowlands: for first place, Leahy wins with FG 1998, MNF at New England: Vinny takes over at QB, wins game with 4th qtr TD pass to Ward 1998, at Buffalo: clinched AFC East, another Vinny-Ward game winner 2002, Green Bay at Meadowlands: won AFC East 2002 playoffs, Indy at Meadowlands: 41-0 2006, Oakland at Meadowlands: clinch playoffs, Mangini gets Gatorade shower
Tough call. Definately one of these two. 2002, Green Bay at Meadowlands: won AFC East 2002 playoffs, Indy at Meadowlands: 41-0
I remember the Jets-Packers game in 2002 very clearly. I remember seeing that Miami was beating the Patriots by 10 with about 5 minutes left, so as we went into the stadium, we felt that it was going to be a meaningless game. Then I remember hearing that it was going into OT. Then I heard Vinitieri's FG go through the uprights over a radio and the whole stadium completely errupted. I think all of the players knew what that meant too. The rest was history. The AFC East berth, the fireworks... Best Jet game ever!
Mine is between two... My first game ever was in Shea vs the Fins back in 81... it was the fantasic finishes game when Richard Todd was playing with broken ribs... The second was also against the Fins was the Monday Miricle
Packers game in 2002 definitly....there were many games in 2002 that were awesome to be at, but that topped it off obviously I was one of the guys that hung around in the parking lot with my dad and some of our friends to watch the full Pats and Dolphins game at some guys tailgate....We were cheering so hard for the Pats it was crazy and everyone went nuts when they won......We all could hear the stadium errupt as they won, and then we ran in to watch the Jets win the division and dominate Brett Favre, great experience that I will never forget
Ill have to take you all back a spell.... I think it was 1985, against the Dolphins, the 51-45 OT game where O'Brien and Marino took turns taking their teams up and down the field, Jets pulled that one out, that was also the first time I sat in the lower level at Giants stadium....18 rows up.
Monday Night Miracle. Easily. I wasn't at that '02 Packers game, but it couldn't have been as exciting as Monday Night Miracle. Me and my buddy drank way too much at our tailgate. We were out there at 8 in the morning. At the end of the first half when people were filing out, we were too drunk to drive home, so we stayed. Just as the Jets started coming back the alcohol wore off and it was amazing. We were out there for 17 hours, and it was well worth it.
The only game i have been to. Jets @ Colts. Cant remeber what year but jets won by 1 point and then a week later lost to the steelers.
The only 1 point win over Indy I can remember was the 2001 Sun Night game, we did lose to Pitt that year but it was a couple of weeks earlier. It was '86.
I have only been to a couple Jet games but I did get to see the Vinny Sneakgate game against Seattle.
packers 02 for sure watching the pats game in the parking lot and the blowing out the pats to clinch. and a nice game was new years eve this year to clinch..gotta love clinchin game s
I've only been to two out of about 7-8 non-preseason games where the Jets have won, which is originally why I didn't want to go to the Raiders game this year. But that was easily the best game. It was a huge party for 4 quarters and it was amazing watching this completely unexpected season all come together and lead to a playoff berth.
