What? How many wins was Rodgers worth last year? Yes, let's deal in reality and stop counting the eggs before they get scrambled. Crazy talk is believing anything is going to change just because it hasn't for so long or because you think they won the offseason - again.
I'll be called a homer for this but I think you have the Dolphins and Jets backwards. The Jets if healthy (have to assume we don't suffer calamity again) are a double digit win team.
Too early for predictions so I’ll wait. But the problem with a big collection of short term type mercenary talents like the Jets have is that it usually takes a pretty good coach to stitch all the talent together to get them in sync. Bruce Arians might not have been the worlds greatest coach but he had a track record of success when he was with the Buccs and they did it. He also had a veteran DC in Bowles and while he had a young OC, he had Tom Moore on the staff to consult. Similar scenario with John Fox in Denver with Del Rio & Mike McCoy. We have a coaching staff that has limited success in their given roles at best and probably not much of an idea how to coach a collection of talent like this.
I hope you are right but a 40-yr old will be 41 during the season coming off a major injury. I don't know what to expect from Rodgers assuming he stays healthy. He is a big upgrade from Zach but can he physically handle Did the Fins beat any team last year with a winning record? Tua is a great Sept/Oct QB but once the weather gets cold his noodle arm can't make the throws. See KC playoff game as an example. On paper the Jets are good. On paper doesn't mean shit. If they stay healthy, and if Rodgers especially stays healthy and has something left in the tank then the Jets could compete for a playoff spot or even the division. The Pats are rebuilding and should end up in last place this year. Until proven otherwise its still the Bills division. They have 11 picks in this draft. Beane is a good GM. I am sure the Bills will reload/rebuild their roster in this draft.
They beat the Cowboys but that’s it. The Phins badly need to figure out a way to play playoff home games. It’s such a drastic temperature change for them to go into freezing cold places and compete coming from South Beach. Agreed on Tua’s arm too, but their running game disappears in cold weather all the same.
They lost a lot of people as well and have two massive players who are coming off gruesome injuries late in the season. - Robert Hunt - Connor Williams didn't resign yet and is coming off a terrible knee injury - Wilkins walked to LV - Chubb and Phillips both edge rushers where one is coming off an achillies and ACL late in the year - Van Ginkle was a solid player That OL was suspect as shit and they lost 2/5 starters. Tua finally stayed healthy for this time in what feels like 5 years back to his college days and it felt like they topped out last year.
im willing to wager all of my intenets that the jets win more than five games next year. anyone care to take me up on this offer?
cook - 1569 yards from scrimmage, 6 TDs, 4 fumbles hall - 1585 yards from scrimmage, 9 TDs, 2 fumbles
One is an afterthought in a passing offense instead of being the focal point, and also doesn’t get any carries inside the 5 yard line because they give it to the qb who had 15 rushing touchdowns. Cook would’ve had 10 more tds in any other situation. I’m not interesting in debating who’s better, they’re both good players, I was simply trying to undercut the original posters thought that the bills would be in some drastically better situation had they drafted breece.
So? There was some sort of ridiculous statistic about the Jets lack of red zone appearances inside the 5 yard line historically.
Breece was the focal point of the offense but he was also the focal point of the defense. No one game planned to stop Cook. And “in any other situation” Cook wouldn’t have nearly that many goal line opportunities. I agree they’re both good players, but breece is better
Breece also came off a gruesome injury where production always ticks up in year 2 post surgery. Breece is a 99th percentile athlete with Peterson and a handful of others where he was able to be a freak 1 year removed. There is a very good chance Breece could be in the running for OPOY in 2024
I sure hope so. That would require they give him the freakin ball though. I dont care who the QB is, the offense should run primarily through Hall. He went 7 games last year with less than 15 touches and that's not acceptable
Didn't it take Barkley a couple of years before he regained his old form and a great season 2 years ago. I thought Barkley and Breece had similar injuries. I hope you are right about Breece having a great season.
