https://apnews.com/article/transgender-lia-thomas-swimming-lawsuit-b7df63108a03100f36b2e4364d585cdc8 ATLANTA (AP) — Former Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines was among more than a dozen college athletes who filed a lawsuit against the NCAA on Thursday, accusing it of violating their Title IX rights by allowing transgender woman Lia Thomas to compete at the national championships in 2022. YOU GO, GIRLS! This was complete bs from start to finish. Heh.
https://www.outsports.com/2024/3/19...thomas-riley-gaines-political-personal-petty/ I really don't know what's so hard about this. No one is "discriminating" against Lia Thomas as far as I'm aware. She is free to live her life as she pleases. Calling it transphobic when someone is upset about a patently unfair physical advantage based on biological sex is cheap and stupid.
I guess if you bank your life on peaking with high school sports, gotta make your stand somewhere. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
What’s that mean? You were talking about high school athletics. This thread is about college athletics. As per usual, your made back to back posts that make no sense.
I'm saying it's sports. Maybe they should focus on getting a career that makes a living. Being fit is great and all, but being a professional swimmer doesn't exactly pay as well as other sports (where most people fail to become a pro either). Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
Again, no idea what you’re talking about. Who said these people aren’t pursuing jobs because they’re pissed that some dude who declares himself a woman beats them in a race while they’re in college?
Oh, my garden peas, common sense: https://www.espn.com/college-sports...tially-bans-transgender-athletes-women-sports According to the transgender participation policy, all athletes may participate in NAIA-sponsored male sports but only athletes whose biological sex assigned at birth is female and who have not begun hormone therapy will be allowed to participate in women's sports.
Anyone catching this truly pathetic little controversy with Dawn Staley. Every b-list celebrity and failed right-leaning “journalist” trying really hard to make it a thing lol. The best was some broad I never heard of on Fox saying Dawn Staley is a part of some cult. Which is ironic considering there’s a cult of hatred trying to make this a thing when it really isn’t
My understanding was she was asked if she supported transwomen playing women's sports, she didn't offer her opinion. She was pressed, so she pressed back. She didn't initiate an agenda. I don't agree with her stance at all, but she is an amazing basketball coach and those GIRLS deserved to win. Social media et al tried to ice the kicker, and it didn't work. 38-0, unlike the Cheats. That's impressive no matter how you slice it.
Yeah, I backed added some info. https://www.pennlive.com/sports/202...s-south-carolina-to-third-national-title.html lololololololololol. Personally, I don't care what side of the aisle people sit on when they start shit but that is some epic fail right there.
Just to reclarify something in particular for perhaps the third time since this thread started. I do not agree with biological males participating in biological female sports. What I don't appreciate is the inference that you're some kind of a transphobic bigot just because you don't toe the company line on it every which way but loose. It has nothing to do with discrimination or hatred of any kind, and I am so sick of that implication. Getting lumped in with a faction of wacko religionists in politics who attach all the other shit to it that I DON'T agree with is an annoying and unwelcome facet of having a factual scientific basis to my opinion on the matter. I will always stand up for what's right when it comes to bullying, discrimination, fear mongering and hatred. Biological males have a physical advantage in women's sports. That does not qualify, sorry not sorry.
What’s the problem? It’s not like Staley’s been quiet about her feelings on polarizing issues in the past or politics. She was asked something that’s very relevant in women’s athletics today which is related to men participating in women’s sports.
That's my point, there is no problem. She was asked a question and gave her opinion . I'm not sure why "Outkick the Coverage" and "Fox & Friends" has been parading people up all week to cry about it. Let alone a US Senator from Alabama
Well they obviously have a different opinion. You can use hyperbole and call it crying all you want but that’s what political talk shows do - they talk about political issues.
