Jets were awarded the rights to expand branding in Ireland much like they did in the UK years back. This seems really cool, I had planned on visiting in the next couple of years, anyone know if there is a Jets bar in Ireland? https://www.newyorkjets.com/news/jets-global-brand-ireland
NFL rules which the owners agreed to. The idea is it's easier to build a fanbase for a single team than the NFL as a whole. Once regions are "locked in" so to speak, the marketing will expand to include every team, but that could take a decade. Cleveland Browns were awarded the Nigerian market, so it's definitely a long term strategy to build global interest.
Woody was the UK ambassador. This smells like a plot by the Brits to attack the Irish by subjecting them to Jets football.
Let me guess, the teams that control the NFL front office (Giants, Steelers, Patriots) got the rights to the biggest countries?
Steelers started making a big push here last season but the country is still basically full of middle aged men in 10 year old Brady jersies who proclaim to be Pats fans and just keep saying onto Cleveland. I hate every last one of them
In one way, it makes sense that the Irish could become fans of the Jets and Eagles, since our uniforms are green, and the green shamrock is the symbol of Ireland
I mean, sort of lol "The New York Jets were founded in 1959 and won Super Bowl III in 1969. The team is recognized for its iconic green and white uniforms that were chosen by former owner Sonny Werblin due to his birthday falling on Saint Patrick's Day."
