It looks like they are ironing out the details but I wouldn’t bet against it happening. Hopefully the big fella can stay healthy for us. https://x.com/KurtBenkert/status/1767305716958659035?s=20
Inevitable. Wouldn't mind him as the swing, but he for sure will be the Week 1 starting LT with Warren as the swing.
I think he’s only played LT… If he’s truly healthy it would be a huge win if not we need more depth from the draft
Stupid we are gonna end up in the same spot as last season. a bunch of injured linemen and playing guys from the practice squad by mid-season
Is JD incapable of learning? He is basically hoping to get lucky and that worked out really well last year.
All depends on what the signing will be. Counting on him to start a full season is beyond foolish at his age and with his injury history. Much like counting on Brown last year and Becton the year before. I’m fine with signing him as an option, but he should not be counted on to be the starter. And seriously, if JD makes the SAME fucking mistake for the third year in a row he should be fired. It’s seriously delusional. But again, he may just be a signing for depth and as long as we have a good option (i.e. LT drafted at 10) then it makes more sense. But I think I’ve had enough of signing Aaron’s friends…between Lazard and Hacket and Cobb…enough is enough…they all suck
This is what Rodgers was talking about when he was promoting his own ability to recruit players to the Jets. This specifically.
This is from Bakh from an article in March asking why he doesnt retire. With more than $120 million in career earnings and a superb resume, why would Bakhtiari put himself through all the hell? “Because I’m different,” he said on Oct. 10. “I have an unparalleled work ethic. I’m stubborn as f**k and I’m not going to let someone else write my story. This is me taking control of what I need to do. When I want to look back, do I want to look at the guy who got injured and was like ‘Ah, that’s good enough?’ If that’s me, then the future, older me is going to be pissed at the younger me like, ‘You f**king quitter .’ Sounds like a guy that wants to play, I definitely dont trust him as our one and only option but if we bring him in and draft a LT at 10 I think it would be an awesome opportunity for the rookie. Even if we draft a rookie at 72, while we would absolutely need more depth I would be OK going WR at 10 with Bakh, Warren and a rookie at 72. Dont get me wrong, my dream is Tyron Smith AND Bakh, could be an expensive double dip but we would be set at LT and swing for sure.
Bakhtiari on a cheap deal and either OT at 10 or somebody like Patrick Paul at 72. Sounds okay to me. I'm ok with Bakhtiari as long as there are some damn good backup plans
Bahk + trade down from 10 to like 18 (Hello Cincinatti?) and get James Morgan from Arizona or Mims and acquire a 2nd rounder would be gas.
JD has no final say say or veto powers in whether this move happens. This is Arod's boy on and off the field. If both him and Bahk want this to happen it's happening. JD only falls into the latter blame game here in the event he maybe trades down in the draft as a result of this trade with Fash still on the board. Or doesn't take OT in the 1st period. As long as the money is reasonable and we still draft OT in the 1st I'm ultimately ok with this. I mean I obviously want and would prefer Tyron Smith. But I'd also like to sleep with Emily Ratajkowski and that is probably never realistically happening either.
<sigh> I have no words... Doubling down on 3 - 6 wins this season with Rodgers not making it out of the 1st quarter of the season, if he starts at all. F'n signing a bunch of 2nd tier players and those with EGREGIOUS injury histories. Just SMH...
